We went to Burro e Sugo on Saturday evening with a reservation through TheFork and a 50% discount. It was our second time there, and unfortunately, my concerns the first time were confirmed.
As soon as we entered, we were hit by a very heavy smoke, almost like a fog, a clear sign that the kitchen hood was probably malfunctioning. The first time, I thought it was a temporary glitch, but the situation was the same this time. The restaurant also has a fairly low ceiling, making it very noisy.
The service was very slow and disorganized.
As for the food, some things were good, while others were truly disappointing. The artichokes (Roman-style or Jewish-style) were practically submerged in liquid, and the same thing happened with the chicken with peppers, which was sloppy. The tagliatelle with wild boar, on the other hand, was very good—the only dish we truly enjoyed.
The thing that left us most perplexed, however, was the bill. We were a table of 10 with a 50% discount on TheFork. The total was €270, and we were given a €118 "discount," but we ended up paying €27 per person.
Considering that almost everyone ordered just a main course (a first or second course), a few supplì or bruschetta, drinks, and a few sorbet, the final price was practically identical to what one would have paid without any discount. We all felt cheated.
I hate to write this because some things were good, but between the smoke in the restaurant, the slow service, and the lack of transparency regarding the discount, the overall experience was disappointing.

The oxtail stew was absolutely perfect, delicious!
The tiramisu was a little less delicious because it was made without eggs (they later explained to me that some customers requested this).
Definitely worth repeating.

If you're looking for an intimate and informal place, but with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and staff, you've come to the right place. The menu is varied, well-stocked, and complete with meat, fish, and traditional Roman cuisine. In the attached photos, which showcase everything my partner and I enjoyed, I'd like to point out (without disregarding the rest) the two first courses: mezze maniche with pajata sauce and tonnarelli with sea bass, truffle, and pecorino cheese. As the friendly owner had already told me, they're addictive! Excellent value, especially since they often offer promotions and discounts (see website). If you're coming by car, parking can be found nearby, with a little patience. In short, everything was excellent! We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

A great find, a true Roman trattoria with authentic dishes and generous portions.
The rigatoni alla pajata are a must-try.

A lovely little spot tucked away in the San Paolo neighborhood, in a small but welcoming and clean space. Traditional Roman cuisine and innovative dishes. Both first and second courses are generously portioned, tasty, and well-seasoned. Service is fast and friendly (the owner is friendly and kind, and loves playing with children). The prices are fair, considering the quality, quantity, and speed. We ordered a platter with Neapolitan bruschetta as an appetizer, paccheri alla carbonara and tonnarelli cacio e pepe with chicory, followed by a generous portion of oxtail stew with baked potatoes. We left the place full and satisfied! Everything was truly excellent. We'll definitely be back. I highly recommend it!

We visited this welcoming and characteristic Roman restaurant. Despite using a smart box, we were greeted with great professionalism. We ate very well, with generous and excellent dishes. I highly recommend trying it.

I've been there three times now, and it deserves all five stars. It's a trattoria/osteria with tasty, home-style cooking. The tagliata is truly delicious, as are the other dishes, all with generous portions for the price. They often offer discounts. I'll be back again and will recommend it again. Excellent, excellent, excellent!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I'll definitely be back.
My mom and I had lunch at this little gem. We were captivated by the 50% off offer and then found the culinary delights, not to mention the super welcoming and smiling staff. Typical Roman dishes; the pasta was amazing, homemade, cooked and seasoned to perfection. Excellent!
Thank you, it's lovely and rare to find places like this these days.
