Historic restaurant (1920) in the center of Trieste which offers truly typical good quality dishes. Friendly, competent and passionate owners.
Recommended dishes:
- Trieste ham served with mustard and horseradish;
- Giulianska (stuffed with ham and cheese);
- potato gnocchi with homemade goulash;
- pork belly with baked potatoes;
- emperor's dessert;
- sweet savory;
- lots of beer...
- Badel Pelinkovac herbal bitters.

Exceptional! All dishes are cooked very well: excellent goulash and incredible jota! Not to mention Giulianska!
We exaggerated with the dishes but it was really worth it!
The owners are kind and friendly and we had a really good time.

Locale storico di Trieste in cui si possono mangiare piatti tipici. Tutto molto buono, consiglio le cozze, i tagliolini con le alici e pomodorini, gli gnocchi con le susine... Personale veramente gentile.

In addition to the excellent food and dishes prepared according to the "Julian" tradition, the owners are very nice. Well, after eating for lunch, we returned in the evening. Very satisfied!!! Would I go back? Certain!!

Beyond the delicious food we ate, I want to focus on the treatment my girlfriend, I and our dog received.
The two owners, husband and wife, pampered us and made us feel at home.
Each dish was explained to us both in terms of ingredients and history.
We have rediscovered that humanity that has now been lost, where the customer is treated as a paying person and that's it and where a chat almost seems like an annoyance.
What can I say? Superrrrr recommended

Two of us had lunch on August 15th. The Trieste cooked ham, the ljubljanska (huge!!!) with potatoes in the pan and a plum dumpling for dessert are delicious!! Very friendly and fast service. We hope to return soon!

Locale storico ma rinnovato negli arredamenti, dove si ritrova la tradizione nei piatti proposti. Per cominciare non si può non partire dall'ottimo prosciutto cotto nella crosta di pane...una vera squisitezza. Si continua con la jota e non si può rinunciare alla Ljubjana con patate in tecia...ottima.
