One of the best buffets in Trieste! The giulianska was delicious, and the potato gnocchi with ragù were also very good. The service wasn't very friendly, but honestly, I don't care that much; the important thing is that the food was good. I should point out that there were two of us and we went on a Sunday for lunch, around 12:30, without a reservation. However, I recommend booking to be sure.

Delicious food in a traditional restaurant in the center of Trieste; special mention for the tiramisu—you can't find anything this good anymore. The owner has a great sense of humor (for those who know how to appreciate it).

Historic restaurant in the city center, excellent dinner. Delicious jota and bread gnocchi with goulash, and the potatoes in tecia are special. A 10 for the desserts; we tried three different ones, all amazing, especially the walnut studel with melted butter, a traditional dessert that seems impossible to find anywhere else. The owner seems a little rough at first, but then he warms up, and the atmosphere is special too.

On a Sunday afternoon, two friends and I were "granted" a table for a limited time... when we arrived, the place was almost empty and no tables were booked??? But what really struck us was the attitude of the owner/waiter toward those who came in asking for lunch: indifferent, surly, and rude... and the tables were always free!!!??? This place certainly hasn't earned its reputation for its hospitality and service. 3 stars only because the food was good... at least that much.

Pleasure trip to beautiful Trieste A traditional restaurant with fantastic, expertly prepared dishes. Fragrant goulash, excellent boiled meats. We came in because it was the only one open on Sundays, and left with dinner for the next day already booked. The best.

Siamo andati in un ristorante a Trieste che esiste dal 1914. Tutto quello che abbiamo mangiato era incredibilmente delizioso. Gli gnocchi al gulasch e la cotoletta di vitello (buoni almeno quanto quelli che abbiamo mangiato a Vienna). Consigliamo vivamente questo ristorante che è gestito dalla stessa famiglia da 3 generazioni. È stato come un banchetto con il suo servizio cordiale, le carni deliziose, il vino delizioso e il meraviglioso tiramisù. Grazie.

Ottima scelta per una cena tipica Triestina. Piatti buonissimi, abbiamo scelto il gulasch con gnocchi di pane, consigliatissimo, e patate in tecia, anche quelle buonissime. Il locale è bellissimo, ben posizionato nel centro della città. Il personale è gentile e molto disponibile. I prezzi sono molto accessibili. In una parola: consigliatissimo

04/01/2025: Che posto piacevole! Accogliente con quel tanto di atmosfera familiare che ci vuole, personale gentile e professionale. Cibo tipico con un tocco in più. Abbiamo pranzato insieme ad un ospite calabrese che ha apprezzato molto la cucina triestina. Tutto era perfetto. Prosciutto ottimo, carne saporita e di qualità, gnocchi di pane e susine particolari davvero. Consigliato.

13/10/2025: A restaurant just steps from the city center, in the museum district. Often crowded, reservations aren't always possible, and the hours are very extended. The food is absolutely good, but given that they didn't accept meal vouchers on those days and based on other reviews, it may not be the norm. Everything is typical Trieste, also suitable for vegetarians. The service was terrible. They were extremely slow to take lunch orders, the first and second courses arrived simultaneously, and, as mentioned, meal vouchers weren't accepted, even though it was indicated as such, because it was the Barcolana (I can understand the large tables, but not if someone is there alone in uniform, unless they were of a different quality for that weekend. I don't see why they wouldn't be accepted, especially if you don't mention it). The prices were very fair, except for the water, which was €2.50 for 400 ml. Overall, I'd recommend it, but I'd have to try it again outside of the Barcolana.
12/10/2025: Siora Rosa is an incredibly charming place where you can immediately feel the passion for cooking and attention to every detail. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. I especially recommend the lasagna with porcini mushrooms – it's a true masterpiece of flavor! Perfectly creamy, aromatic, and prepared with the highest quality ingredients. It's worth a visit to discover true Italian cuisine at its finest.
