Buca di Sant'Antonio In Lucca

If you're in Siena, you have to check this place out. On the recommendation of a friend, I had wild boar ragu (Pici al ragu di cinghiali). It was a first for me and I loved it. It was a beautiful night, so we sat outside. It was very comfortable. We had a party of five and everyone agreed that the food and service was excellent. My Son and I had the chance to meet the owner, Pino and his daughter. Very nice people. All in all a great experience. We'll go back the next time we're in Siena. Buon appetito

We had the pleasure of dining here during our one-night stay in Lucca, and it truly became an unforgettable finale to our Tuscany trip. I feel so lucky we made an early reservation, because the entire evening was marvelous from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish we tried exceeded our expectations. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, and the ambiance made the night feel special and memorable. My family and I enjoyed every moment, and we couldn’t have asked for a better last night in Tuscany. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lucca!

Outstanding food with impeccable service. This was easily the best meal we had during our week in Tuscany. We booked it for our final evening and it was the perfect way to end our holiday. An authentic Italian experience steeped in history.

I've eaten here quite a few times over the past 2 years and last night was a disappointment. made a reservation several days before and they sat me outside in the rain. over and hour between courses and I had to remind the waiter or who knows. normally a great place but not this time.

There does seem to be a lot of hype about this restaurant. Perhaps this is why we left somewhat disappointed. We thought the restaurant was a Michelin Star restaurant (our mistake) but it isn’t. We were warmly greeted and farewelled and it was lovely to receive a complementary Prosecco and nibbles. The dishes were also very nice but I think the waiter - at least at our table - let the team down. It’s unusual at this level of restaurant not to have your wine topped up at any stage and not to be offered another bottle of mineral water when the bottle stood empty on our table from the time of the entree onwards. When a different waiter came to our table on one occasion (a waitress), she was much more engaging. Good but certainly not outstanding and not sure it lives up to the hype. Perhaps we were not as enthusiastic about Buca San Antinio because the night before in Florence we went to a family run restaurant which unexpectedly proved to be a hidden gem and the highlight of our trip and which served traditional Tuscan dishes with love and pride and generosity (massive serves) and with waiters who we could chat to about the dishes and their provenance and preparation.

Delicious food either extensive gluten free menu. Staff were excellent, friendly & funny. So glad we chose here for our day trip lunch.

We had a wonderful meal: traditional Lucchese cuisine prepared with great care and using high-quality ingredients. The restaurant, steeped in history and charm, offers a unique atmosphere. Impeccable service and surprisingly fair prices considering the quality, location, and overall experience. Highly recommended.

Ero a Lucca per lavoro e la scelta di questo ristorante e stata "casuale". Ben posizionato (praticamente in centro), in stile "trattoria, ma elegante e curato. Ho mangiato una ottima Fiorentina servita al sangue, tenera e gustosa. Il servizio è stato di livello e il conto adeguato. Molto consigliato.

My wife and I had a wonderful, relaxing and delicious lunch seated outside. The service was very Italian which was to our liking. I had pasta with truffles and Goat. My wife had the local tordelli. It was all delicious. I would return given the chance.
