The atmosphere is a bit vintage, but the quality and, above all, the hospitality and kindness of the owners and staff make everything else last. Their wines are also excellent.

The restaurant's interior is a bit old-fashioned, but the waitress was very friendly. They even had gluten-free breadsticks. The food, however, wasn't great. I highly recommend the braised beef because it wasn't braised; the meat was decidedly tough and left us with a hard stomach. The sausages were better, but still mediocre. Let's just say it's pretty low on the list of Piedmontese restaurants I've been to.

The welcome wasn't the best... there were seven of us, having made a reservation by phone. The girl in the lobby, after asking in the dining room, made us wait in the bar area, telling us 10-15 minutes... the older man (meter or manager?) at a certain point shouted at her loudly, in front of all the guests, humiliating her with some rude language. I understand the Sunday chaos, but such a scene casts a bad light not only on the person, who appeared rude, overbearing, and sexist, but also on the place. It seemed like she should have seated us at the table right away, but in reality the girl was only following previously given orders. When we arrived in the dining room, the "meter" rudely pointed to our table, as if we were dogs waiting to be sat in a kennel. Luckily, the excellent waitress served us impeccably. The menu needs rethinking...a bit limited and unexplained...the braised beef, while good, arrived with reheated polenta (which I didn't like, and I wonder if I was celiac?) and boiled carrots that not even the hospital makes so overcooked and tasteless. The pasta and gnocchi were good, but the rabbit was too tough. The portions were just right. The dining room is drab...more like a cafeteria, and our seat near the kitchen was uncomfortable, with constant passing and tapping from the waiters, a screen attached to the chair... It's a shame we missed the view of Barolo due to the bad weather. I had high expectations when I booked, but overall it turned out to be a medium-low quality place with prices that were too high and not commensurate with what we found.

A Piedmontese restaurant where you can enjoy typical regional cuisine. The menu isn't overly extensive, but the dishes are beautifully executed. The wine list is truly extensive and will satisfy all palates. I'll remember it for the extremely kind staff, as well as the excellent cuisine. I absolutely recommend it.

Excellent appetizers, including veal with tuna sauce and exceptional carpaccio. The first courses were good. Excellent service, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain about the wines, of course! The only disappointment was the second course, where the braised beef was mediocre and the zucchini and potatoes, practically boiled, didn't hold up to the rest.

The place is very large, spacious, and clean. The staff is fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. Typical Piedmontese dishes are plentiful and delicious. In my opinion, the prices are quite above average.

It's Alba Truffle Fair season, and autumn in the Langhe and Roero is a spectacle of colorful vineyards and woodlands, with persimmons and pomegranates adding artistic touches and attracting countless tourists. La Morra, Barolo, Monforte, and Serralunga, along with Barbaresco and Neive, vie for the top spots among the most sought-after villages. The local cuisine, featuring its majesty the white truffle, along with the many traditional dishes and the great red wines from the most prestigious producers, is an irresistible draw both nationally and internationally. It's difficult to find a table in the many suitable restaurants, even with advance reservations. Brezza is one of Barolo's historic restaurants, first in the historic center and now for several years in the beautiful location next to the functional hotel with a stunning view of the castle and the village. Tonight, we'll be meeting again as always with a group of loyal enthusiasts of our cuisine and great wines, who every year from the PFALZ enthusiastically return to explore the charming streets that have earned their rightful UNESCO recognition. Despite some language difficulties, a wonderful friendship has developed, and on the last evening of their stay, it's a tradition to dine together. This year, we recommended this beautiful location, tastefully furnished with lots of wood, lending the atmosphere warmth and elegance. They chose a unique traditional menu with classic Piedmontese appetizers (meat Alba-style, veal with tuna sauce, Russian salad, vegetable flan with fondue), followed by the restaurant's signature tajarin pasta. This is followed by the autumn's star dish, a great braised beef in Barolo wine with vegetables, and finally, a nougat parfait. The wine list is fantastic, featuring top local labels and very reasonable markups, with particular attention paid to the wine service, both in terms of glass selection and the right temperature. Our German friends don't skimp, and on the tables we see the finest labels from our excellent wineries. We started with a great Alte Langhe, followed by a Nebbiolo del Roero, the great cru Valmaggiore 2022 from the Marengo producer in La Morra. A wine of great elegance, freshness, and balance, a characteristic shared by all the fantastic reds from the left bank of the Tanaro. We joke about the small bottle, which is finished in a flash; fortunately, we can have a second, and we're delighted. A good coffee and a final toast to seal our friendship and renew our invitation for 2026 with a local nectar, kindly offered by the house: the great Barolo Chinato made with the secret recipe of its inventor, the great Doctor Cappellano of Serralunga. We will cherish the memory of this beautiful evening spent in joy, enjoying delicious dishes, accompanied by great wines, in a charming location with a spectacular view, served by kind, attentive, professional, and smiling staff. Thanks to the entire team at this historic venue for giving us a unique evening. Highly recommended, especially for those seeking traditional dishes prepared with love and attention.

The house appetizer was poor: the beef carpaccio was flavorless because it was seasoned with garlic (not listed on the menu); the tuna sauce was equally lacking, and the tuna salad was only mayonnaise. Only the fillet steak in Barolo was good. I would hardly return.

We had lunch here and I have to say we had a great time. We really enjoyed the food, the wine list was excellent, and the prices were fair. The only downside was that the dishes were a bit too fast; the waiter Antonio realized we wanted to take a breather and slowed down this pleasant moment. We'll definitely be back.

Arcimbaldo

07/12/2025: I hadn't been there in years, but I have to say it was a great evening. The food was very good (as was the pizza). The waitress was lively, cheerful, and very pleasant. The room was very full, and unfortunately the acoustics suffered...
04/10/2025: Nice place, top service, good pizza, shame it gets cold quickly, but we'll be back anyway
