Babu's Bakery & Coffeehouse in Zurich deserves a four-star rating based on several positive aspects: Ambience and atmosphere The café impresses with an attractive, modern and at the same time cozy design. The facility invites you to linger, be it for a quick breakfast or a long afternoon coffee. The loving details in the decoration create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Quality of food and drinks The selection of drinks is varied and creative, and the coffee specialties in particular are attractively prepared and served. The homemade sweets and baked goods are a highlight: fresh, tasty and visually appealing. The hearty dishes are also a good addition to any time of day. Service and process The process in the café requires a little orientation: Before you sit down, you have three options - either you let yourself be seated, have a reservation or look for a free seat yourself. If you look for a seat yourself, you should make sure to write down the table number so that you can order correctly at the counter. It is also important to check when you have to release the table again, as places are limited at peak times. Value for money The prices are reasonable compared to Zurich and correspond to the quality of the food and the central location. Toilet and hygiene I did not inspect the sanitary facilities during my visit and can therefore not give an opinion on the cleanliness and maintenance. In summary I can write: Babu's Bakery & Coffeehouse is a recommended address for coffee and sweets lovers. The pleasant atmosphere, the quality of the food and the friendly staff justify the four stars. With a little attention to the process, it's a nice place to take a relaxing break in Zurich.

Came in the morning and there was no queue. Went for the highly reviewed Avocado Toast and Carrot Cake - it's the best I've ever tasted

A very popular and busy cafe but unsure if worth the hype. Ordered the hash brown with salmon which cost CHF 26 (I'd say this is fairly average) but found the hashbrown a bit lacking in texture. Extremely hard and crunchy around the edges and a bit gluggy and dry on the inside. Needed to ask for more cream cheese as the tiny dollop seemed a bit disproportionate. Smoked salmon was fresh and highly recommend the gingerbread latte although the gingerbread was hard and bad horrible texture. Waiters were okay - couldn't clarify the wifi password to download the QR coded menu and found the staff at the till quite impatient not just for me but serving others. Would recommend trying but unsure if it's a must visit during your trip to Zurich

Ordered: - 2x breakfast cake stand (38.- each) - Berry Ice Tea (approx. 7.-) Paid: approx. 83 CHF (With reservation) For the price of 38.- per person I would have expected a little more, but Löwenstrasse is known to be more expensive than other areas. The food was good overall, although I found the amount of egg a bit limited. In addition, one of the pancakes was slightly raw in the middle, which spoiled the enjoyment a bit. It was a bit disappointing that when you make a reservation you are forced to order a cake stand menu. I would have preferred to choose from the menu myself. Still, I understand that this makes preparing for the cafe much easier. Another point: In summer it gets quite warm in the restaurant due to the lack of air conditioning. All in all, I would still like to come back, this time without a reservation, to try out the other dishes.

We were seated quickly despite the Saturday rush, and the service was friendly and accommodating even in the rush. I can highly recommend the carrot cake, it tastes as good as it looks. :)

Babus was underwhelming at best. I had the egg benedicts for 24.-, which - even in zurich - is not worth it… the hollandaise sauce was plain, some of the most mid tasting egg benedicts I have ever had. They then proceeded to kick us out after eating our brunch (we only stayed for 45min!). The coffee however is of decent quality, pretty good beans.
