Braceria Toro Nero In Lecce

I have tried at least 6 difficult dishes and 2 different desserts. Everything was delicious in a rustic sense. Zero flaws. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. Try their grilled food.

This restaurant is right in the historic center of Lecce, so the atmosphere is already beautiful, clean, and welcoming. The service is excellent; I didn't wait long to be served, and I must say the waiters are also very good and friendly. Unfortunately, I only give 3 stars for the first course. The pasta was a bit too salty, and at €25, I was sad to leave it half-eaten. Maybe it was a slip-up? I'll be back, but I'll definitely order the meat, which is their signature dish.

Arriving without a reservation on a Saturday evening, we found the waiters clearly "underwater." The welcome wasn't very warm, and we waited a very long time before being served and our order taken. However, we had a very good dinner, and the bill was reasonable.

The food is very authentic and delicious.

We'll definitely be back. We happened upon it by chance on a warm August evening, when, being a Friday dinnertime, all the restaurants were crowded and shuffled off. We were pleasantly surprised, first and foremost, by the extraordinary variety of dishes offered, but also by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Contrary to the easy, Canavacciula-like judgment that might come to mind: "So many dishes on the menu are bad because they're unmanageable," the diverse offerings, ranging from simple cocktails with appetizers or a simple beer to first courses, pizza, meat, and fish, are very well supported by the fact that there's a sort of collaboration between several different establishments (a pub, a meat restaurant, a seafood restaurant, and a pizzeria) that serve the same tables in the small space along Via Federico d'Aragona. We ordered meat (this time), and it was all high-quality, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. As mentioned at the beginning, we'll be back because in the meantime, we've seen several dishes brought to the adjacent tables that we'd like to try.

The restaurant is located on a typical local street. The restaurant has both an indoor and outdoor dining area, allowing people to pass by without creating too much noise that could be a nuisance. Very polite and professional staff, quick and precise. The generous portions and excellent quality of the ingredients are the restaurant's strong points. Excellent value for money. Suitable for everyone, both families and couples.

The food was quite good. The real problem was the service: it was chaotic and confusing. We ordered two plates of bombette, one of which arrived almost immediately, the other after we'd finished our food because they'd forgotten it. Plus, the smell from the waitress was quite annoying. We also witnessed a superior, I assume, rudely treating a waitress, which we can't stand. We won't be returning!
