Borgovino In Varenna

On a trip from Milan to Varenna, we had a pleasant lunch, savoring the local flavors. A shared mixed antipasto (more than enough for two), two very generous Borgovino tagliatelle (unique), two glasses of wine, water, and coffee. 80 euros. Tastes I'm not used to, but truly surprising. Generous portions for the price, and excellent, welcoming, and friendly service.

Delicious, freshly cooked food in homely atmosphere in a place of too many tourist restaurants. Authentic!

We went to this restaurant because of the good reviews we found, but we were disappointed by the small amount of food on offer. The place is small, so it's hard to find a seat. The atmosphere is nice and quiet. However, we left hungry...

Una acogedora escapada del arrastre principal de Varenna. El propietario era encantador y servicial con el pedido. Teníamos el pesto lasaña y ñoquis Gorgonzola (encontrar dos mains vegetarianos siempre es complicado así que estábamos muy contentos! ) y las porciones eran bastante grandes y lo más importante DELICIOSAS. La salsa Gorgonzola no fue abrumadora y el pesto fue suave y aromatizado a la perfección.

We loved this restaurant. They were our favorite in the Lake Como region. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. We brought our dog from Switzerland and they were incredibly kind to her. Highly recommend!

This was definitely our favorite restaurant during our visit to the Varenna-Bellagio-Menagio area. We came back here twice in our trip after trying multiple other restaurants and cafes. The pasta was perfect, very thin and well cooked. The flavors were delicious. The tiramisu was great. And the owners were such a lovely couple, with the best service and they were so kind to our large dog too (who travels everywhere with us). To the other reviews who complained about a cover charge and being billed for water — this is the normal standard in this area and every restaurant does this. As for the portion size, we felt it was very appropriate for a traditional dining style where you should normally order multiple courses. For a table of two, we chose a starter dish + 2 pasta dishes one night and were very full. The second visit, we chose 2 pasta dishes + dessert and left equally happy. No complaints from us and fully recommend this lovely restaurant and their homemade meals.

It's not the best place, smells very old. And with the dish I was quite disappointed.

Great food even though it was a little small... Nice place with a nice owner. Only thing for us was that the water seemed to be tap water, and was charged $2,50 for the bottle.

Cosy, traditional Italian restaurant. Wonderful food, lovely host. Would highly recommend!
