We had a delicious meal here, and in fact loved it so much we came back a few days later and had another. We quickly added it to our favorites in Rome. I’m very disturbed to hear of some of the comments by past reviewers of their experiences of anti-Asian racism. We would probably have avoided the place had we read them in advance. As a blended family (Asian and white) we tend to be pretty aware of that type of atmosphere. But to just tell our own experience, we were treated with warmth and friendliness, and noticed that there were several other Asian customers at the same time we were there who also seemed very happy.
One thing I will say is that the person described in the other comments as being the owner did not appear to be there, so that may be something to note.
But I will also say that we noticed the Buddha heads that are part of the decor, as well as some of the unusual foods like the mango and shrimp and avocado salad and wondered if the owner was Asian—when we asked, we were told that he was a fan of Asia and it’s culture.
So this is all very confusing. I am not dismissing the personal experiences of others, only reporting what we experienced.
And the food was truly wonderful. We loved the atmosphere, which was like a friendly, casual neighborhood spot and not rushed or touristy like the many other spots just a short distance away on the same street.
We will definitely be back.

A very good, simple, classic Roman restaurant in a former shop. The food is inexpensive and perfect! Not a huge selection, but the food is of the highest quality and thoroughly authentic. Always busy, but expect long lines after 7 p.m. No outdoor seating, and only a few indoor seats. Highly recommended!

It's a tiny place that doesn't accept reservations; you go in first come, first served. We waited for about 20-25 minutes, the problem being the heat in the middle of June. However, the food was worth it. We ordered carbonara, by far the best we've had on our trip to Rome. We found the price very reasonable: €12 for a plate of pasta and €1.50 for a water. They don't charge for the cover. We definitely recommend it.

The best carbonara, but limited seating and a long wait. Restrooms are mediocre. Good music.
