21/10/2025: We stopped at "La Piazzetta" for a quick lunch, tempted by the idea of ​​soups, but the experience was extremely disappointing and unpleasant, to say the least. The Food: Minimal Portions at Exorbitant Prices The main problem is the quality-price ratio and, above all, the quantity. We ordered soups that were listed at a whopping €12 each, a price one would expect from a good restaurant in Civita di Bagnoregio. Instead, we were served two tiny bowls, barely 50% full. You can clearly see from the photos the size of the bowl in relation to the spoon, and you can still see the level of filling, which was undoubtedly also increased by moving the spoon while eating. While reasonably good, the quantity was unacceptable for a first course, almost a joke, and definitely not in line with the price. Furthermore, one of the two dishes was the wrong one: a different legume than the one ordered was served. To accompany our meal, we ordered rosemary focaccia, which was also a sore point: clearly not artisanal, but a commercial product that was improperly reheated, resulting in it being practically cold and hard. The Setting: A Bar/Diner with Restaurant Pretensions La "Piazzetta" presents itself as a bar/diner, not a proper restaurant, but charges high prices. The location is typical, but the place even shares a bathroom (with a huge line!) with the nearby souvenir shop. The interior is cramped, with very few seats, uncomfortable and poorly maintained. The Service: Elusive Staff The staff was elusive and inattentive. The soup mistake and the general service were not commensurate with the price paid. It's unacceptable that, despite all these structural flaws (inconvenient location, lack of attention to the interior), the place doesn't even focus on the quality or quantity of the food. In Conclusion: We strongly advise against this place. €12 for a "sample" of soup in such a mediocre setting is an unjustified price. "La Piazzetta" exploits its location in Civita di Bagnoregio without offering anything remotely acceptable in terms of food, service, or ambiance. A real tourist trap, to be avoided.
