I visited Orvieto during a traditional Irish music festival last year. All I can say is please please pay this place a visit. Anthony is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and Blue Bar will be the most welcoming place you will visit.
Drinks are plentiful, reasonable and lovely and sometimes even croissants/cornettos can appear in the wee hours. Also a huge highlight is that Anthony is a fabulous musician who will delight in seranading you with songs old and new.
I cannot praise and thank this man enough for his kindness, musicality, friendliness and making the whole trip that much better.

We were in Orvieto around 3 weeks ago. There is a laundromat across from the Blue Bar. We started our laundry and headed over to get a drink while we waited on our laundry. Best decision ever! Anthony was wonderful and fun to be around. He also introduced us to several people who were there (some ex-pats, some locals, some tourists). We had a fabulous time chatting with folks, listening to music, and great drinks! We may have all been strangers but we quickly felt like friends. I can't wait to go back to Orvieto and visit Anthony at The Blue Bar!

When I think of Orvieto, I don’t just think of truffle pasta or a glass of refreshing Orvieto Classico — I think of The Blue Bar, where we became instant locals and friends with people from all over at Anthony’s place. I think of laughing with strangers, walking down alleys lined with architecture worthy of a coffee table book. Orvieto — I hadn’t even heard your name a year ago, and now you wander through my mind (and my dreams) often. Cin cin. 🇮🇹💙🍷

We had a drink in this sympathetic French man's bar. Excellent! The man is the perfect mix of devil may care and man of the world. Shame we didn't get to see him play his 6 string - but this man from Bretagne sure knows his languages.
No menu either - just ask him what you want and he'll mix up something to your liking.

Fantastic bar! Anthony is the perfect host and such a character. Great barman and equally great on the guitar. Make sure you visit on day one and don't leave it until the final night to find this great bar like we did, you won't regret it!

As someone already wrote: Every city needs a bar like this! Small but welcoming, thanks largely to the owner, Anthony. He's a friendly guy who, in our experience, also attracts friendly customers (regulars and many others), both locals and tourists from many countries. Most people sit in front of the bar on uncomfortable chairs, but that doesn't hurt the atmosphere. There's a Babylonian babble that only one person can follow: Anthony, a Breton Italian with a Dutch accent ;-). If you visit Orvieto, stop by for a drink (usually several), bring a bit of patience and a good mood, and this bar is priceless.
