Bistrot Porta Nuova In Verona

Good coffee, but offers few (almost no) gluten-free and vegan options. For us celiacs, it would be great to have a few more choices!

The sandwiches and brioches aren't bad at all. They're well-filled and tasty. It's a shame about the prices.

The croissant was quite chewy, lacking crispness.

I only bought a small bottle of water, which I found very expensive, but then again, I was at a station, and we know they take advantage of it. Otherwise, the staff were clean and courteous, everything was fine. Thanks!

Of all the establishments populating Verona Porta Nuova station, Bistrot Porta Nuova seems to have awakened to the present, while many of its neighbors remain trapped in a 1950s postcard, and not always in the romantic sense of the word... let's just say the cleanliness sometimes reminds one of a train station more than a bistro. Here, however, things are different: brightly lit signage, modern spaces, and a decor that winks at the distracted traveler. It's certainly not the place where you sit and read War and Peace while sipping afternoon tea. You're in a station, so you enter, bite, drink, and leave again. But in that brief pit stop, the bistro knows how to make itself noticed. The long counter prevents the crowd from turning into a brawl over cappuccino, and the display of pastries and sandwiches gazes at you with just the right amount of light that transforms a simple croissant into an irresistible temptation. The food is good quality; if you're feeling peckish while waiting for your train, you'll find a more than decent defense here. The staff is fast, but don't expect smiles worthy of a Mulino Bianco ad: the warmth stays in your suitcase, and here they serve coffee and sandwiches with surgical efficiency, just right for a place where you're passing through. The prices? In line with the market: no cheap shots, no miracles. In short: Bistrot Porta Nuova is a modern oasis in the Veronese railway jungle. It won't change your life, but it will save your day. Four stars, and an extra pistachio brioche to deserve five.

Good pizza. Fast service. Plenty of seating, convenient with device charging facilities.

The iced alproccino is sooo good, I recommend trying it!!
