Bistrot Porta Nuova In Verona

Of all the establishments populating Verona Porta Nuova station, Bistrot Porta Nuova seems to have awakened to the present, while many of its neighbors remain trapped in a 1950s postcard, and not always in the romantic sense of the word... let's just say the cleanliness sometimes reminds one of a train station more than a bistro. Here, however, things are different: brightly lit signage, modern spaces, and a decor that winks at the distracted traveler. It's certainly not the place where you sit and read War and Peace while sipping afternoon tea. You're in a station, so you enter, bite, drink, and leave again. But in that brief pit stop, the bistro knows how to make itself noticed. The long counter prevents the crowd from turning into a brawl over cappuccino, and the display of pastries and sandwiches gazes at you with just the right amount of light that transforms a simple croissant into an irresistible temptation. The food is good quality; if you're feeling peckish while waiting for your train, you'll find a more than decent defense here. The staff is fast, but don't expect smiles worthy of a Mulino Bianco ad: the warmth stays in your suitcase, and here they serve coffee and sandwiches with surgical efficiency, just right for a place where you're passing through. The prices? In line with the market: no cheap shots, no miracles. In short: Bistrot Porta Nuova is a modern oasis in the Veronese railway jungle. It won't change your life, but it will save your day. Four stars, and an extra pistachio brioche to deserve five.

The iced alproccino is sooo good, I recommend trying it!!

I had this lactose-free Alpro-based drink, very good! There's a long line, and ordering isn't very fast, but we're still at a train station. The tables would be better cleaned, otherwise you can't even stop for a drink or something to eat.

Great focaccia. The only problem is the coffee service, which is very slow (take your time).

Usamos Verona como base para explorar Venecia y el lago de Garda, así que a menudo volvíamos a través de la estación de Verona Porta Nuova, necesitando un aperitivo para mantenernos en marcha. El servicio fue un poco caótico en momentos de mucho trabajo, pero valió la pena la espera. Probamos varios paninis diferentes, el Bresaola se convirtió en mi favorito, siempre estaba generosamente lleno. Las rebanadas de pizza parmigiano también eran excelentes, regadas con jugo de naranja exprimido por encargo. Los precios no eran tan malos para una estación principal.
