Everything was excellent, in particular the story-telling ability of the manager/chef/maitre'd/sommelier who enchanted us by telling my friends and me the story of how his very particular restaurant no arrived in his life. The menu also mixes 0 km local products and products from other distant but absolutely genuine territories. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the charming medieval streets of Città della Pieve, Bistrot del Duca is a true hidden gem where passion for food meets warm hospitality. Chef and owner Christian delivered an unforgettable lunch experience, combining fresh, local ingredients with a creative and refined touch. His wine recommendation was also spot on.
Our meal began with a delicious hummus made from locally produced fagioli beans and chickpeas, both earthy and flavourful, setting the stage for what was to come. The saffron infused risotto with taleggio was perfectly balanced—rich and creamy, yet lifted by the delicate floral notes of the saffron. The egg tagliatelle with green fava beans, zucchini, and pecorino was a celebration of spring, with the freshness of the vegetables complemented by the sharp, salty bite of the cheese.
For dessert, the licorice and vanilla panna cotta was a standout. The unexpected yet harmonious blend of flavours made for a sophisticated and satisfying finale.
Beyond the exquisite food, what makes Bistrot del Duca truly special is Christian’s warm and engaging presence. His passion for his craft is evident in every dish, and his hospitality makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a diner.

We were having a glass of wine in a lovely little town called castiglione di lago when we noticed a bunch of young men next to us speaking English. We asked where they were from and they shared that they were students at university of Colorado, which is where we are from! They were visiting one of the kids’ grandma, our new best friend Nancy! We bonded instantly with her and she told us about this little restaurant in a town we’d never heard of - Citta de la Pieve. She pulled out her cell phone and called the chef/owner, Christian, and told him that we would be there for lunch the next day. The place is TINY and he had no staff there, so he poured us some wine and cooked for us while we marveled at our good fortune. We did not order from a menu - he just brought us saffron risotto, wild boar ragu, some other yummy stuff, and a special house-made made biscotti that doesn’t break your teeth. And of course he paired the wines perfectly. One of the highlights of our trip.

This place is amazing, the chef a great guy took care of my pregnant wife and made sure our meals are safe for her, super cozy ambiance, and the food is delicious, so lucky to have found it, there is also a parking easy access to park

Excellent in everything! High quality raw materials expertly cooked. Space wine list with honest markups! The owner was kind, thoughtful, friendly but never intrusive. A real innkeeper! I'll be back soon!
