We've been coming back to Bertie's several times, and we always find something new, not to mention the excellent quality. From pizza to meat, the pasta dishes, especially the mezzaniello lardiato, are out of this world. What can I say, we always love returning. Compliments to everyone, especially for the service and hospitality, which are undeniable.

In transit towards Cilento with a group of friends, we stopped at a hotel in Nola (Il Belsito, 4 stars) where we had already stayed a couple of years before. Looking for a restaurant for dinner, the owner of the hotel recommended Bertie's Bistrot, even offering to drive us there with his car, given the particularly congested traffic time. The place immediately seemed very pleasant and the food we ordered and enjoyed was even more so. I think the pizza I ordered, the "carciffola arrustata" was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten in Campania, served spectacularly under a glass bell for smoking. According to my companions, the other Capricciosa Iberica were also very popular, including the generous fried fish. So Bertie's Bistrot has ended up in my vast and very personal list of restaurants where I might return, a place that I certainly feel like recommending to anyone who might find themselves looking for a place to eat in the Nola area.

Come si legge già dal titolo per me questo locale è stato una bella scoperta, abbiamo mangiato bene e a parere mio pagato il giusto, tenuto conto della qualità della materia prima oltre al fatto che il posto è molto bello con personale attento e qualificato. In totale abbiamo preso degli antipasti cucinati con grande maestria, un super hot dog di polpo e dei buonissimi bao, per non parlare della pizza in pala, una marinara con diversi tipi di pomodori da leccarsi i baffi, focaccia e patatine per la mia piccolina e un tiramisù fatto al momento, per un totale di 79€ Per alcuni i prezzi potrebbero sembrare un po' più alti ma basti pensare che ci sono ristoranti che ti servono fritture congelate e pizze a mo di gomma che non ti vengono comunque regalate, sicchè se devo spendere i miei soldi preferisco andare in un locale dove sai che mangerai bene, pertanto per me è promosso.

I have always eaten well at Bertie's, both for lunch and dinner. The stuffed focaccia is excellent, very crispy, with anchovies and burrata. The service, however, does not keep up with the level of the food offered and the simple but refined environment. Easy parking on the street without problems. Good choice of meats.

Sono rimasto assolutamente colpito dall’esperienza offerta. Fin dal primo momento, l’accoglienza è stata calorosa e professionale: il personale è attento, gentile e sempre disponibile a consigliare piatti e abbinamenti di vino. Il menù è un vero omaggio alla tradizione, ma con un tocco creativo che lo rende unico. Ho assaggiato vari piatti del menù ed è stato semplicemente eccezionale: ingredienti freschissimi, presentazione impeccabile e un equilibrio di sapori sorprendente. Anche i dolci meritano una menzione speciale: il tiramisù è una vera coccola per il palato. L’atmosfera è elegante ma rilassata, perfetta sia per una cena romantica che per una serata tra amici. Ottimo anche il rapporto qualità-prezzo, soprattutto considerando la qualità della cucina e del servizio. Un ristorante che sa come trasformare un pasto in un’esperienza memorabile. Tornerò sicuramente!

The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed; the food is excellent, prepared with quality ingredients and generous portions, and you can taste the care put into every dish. The staff is kind, helpful, always smiling, and very professional. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend it!
20/01/2026: The best sandwich in Caivano and the surrounding area, a well-kept and well-maintained location, a wide variety of food options from sandwiches to meat dishes, and a knowledgeable and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back, as always.

04/01/2026: When bad service overshadows good food... I was at this place a few weeks ago with some friends. We arrived and asked to leave our coats (it's winter, they're long, and we can't keep them behind the chairs). They replied that there's no cloakroom and we had to keep them ourselves. The result: coats dragging on the floor. They assigned us to a table where we risked falling down the stairs. We asked to change, since the room was empty, but they said no because it wasn't heated. We ordered white wine, which arrived and was good. We ordered red wine, a Primitivo, which wasn't on the wine list. I told the waiter about the new red wine selection, a Jungano—an easy bottle in Campania—and it wasn't there. So I chose a Valpolicella Ripasso Zenato, which was on the list, but that wasn't there either. The owner arrived and suggested a wine, which we confirmed. It took 40 minutes from ordering the first bottle to ordering the last one. We asked the owner again, but he said, "If you don't want it, I won't bring it to you." We were just asking for a little speed, as the white wine and appetizers had already arrived. We had ordered four appetizers, and one arrived incorrectly because the waitress had misplaced it. We waited another 20 minutes for the correct appetizer. Between the appetizer and the main course, a large group of people arrived and sat down in the adjacent room. They received their appetizers and bread, and then, finally, our main course arrived. We then asked the waiter for bread, and he replied that it was out of stock (10:23 PM). Later, when the main course arrived at the table in the dining room, they also served bread. I asked the waitress how that was possible, and she replied, "They had saved it for you." Summary: It's a shame that in a restaurant where the food is objectively good, everything is ruined by terrible service and rude staff. We paid €60 each and for a bill like that, even though the food is top-notch, this McDonald's level of service is unacceptable.
