I had lunch at this restaurant while staying in Valles for skiing. After going up with the cable car, a stone's throw from the arrival station, you will find this restaurant with a magnificent view. Outdoor tables and indoor seats. Welcoming staff and fairly quick service. A central appetizer consisting of Tyrolean cold cuts and cheeses, a second course consisting of eggs and bacon and a typical soup, coffee and beers, for a total cost of approximately €50. Prices a little high compared to some other refuges in the area. However, it is recommended for the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Dopo una piacevole mattinata di sci con amici, abbiamo deciso di fermarci alla Baita Jochtal per un pranzo ristoratore. Il locale si presenta molto accogliente, con un'atmosfera tipica montana arricchita da numerosi animali imbalsamati affissi alle pareti. L'ambiente è pulito e ben curato, il che contribuisce a creare un'atmosfera piacevole.
Uno degli aspetti più positivi è stato lo staff: siamo stati accolti da una signora davvero simpatica e professionale, che ha reso l'esperienza ancora più piacevole grazie alla sua abilità nel descrivere i piatti. La sua cordialità ha sicuramente aggiunto un tocco personale al nostro pranzo.
Tuttavia, ho riscontrato un paio di note dolenti. I piatti erano un po' troppo salati, e la carne, pur essendo di qualità fresca, risultava piuttosto dura. Questo aspetto è davvero un peccato, perché con qualche piccolo aggiustamento il ristorante potrebbe offrire un'esperienza culinaria perfetta.
Nonostante queste criticità, posso dire con certezza che se mi troverò di nuovo in zona, tornerò volentieri alla Baita Jochtal. La simpatia del personale e l'atmosfera accogliente valgono sicuramente una seconda visita, nella speranza che i piatti possano migliorare.

Beautiful view. Good riding. Wonderful location. The only thing you can complain about is the service. What really surprised me in this area was that the service throughout Tyrol was great, but here it smelled a bit of snobbery and boredom. So I tried it more than once just to be sure. I recommend taking the ski lift down and eating there.

Went to the local ski area as a group over New Year's Eve. And were there every day for lunch. Everyone thought it was really tasty. For the first few days up to New Year's Eve we were happy with the service, it felt like there were only 2 that you could order from and 3-4 that only seemed to carry things out, even though they also had a terminal with them.
On January 1st, 2025 we were there at 11 a.m. as an exception. Like every day, the boss in our area (what felt like the entire terrace) ONLY took orders. It started with a 30 minute wait to order a hot chocolate. After 12 p.m., ordering was out of the question and was repeatedly dismissed with the sentence: “You’ll have to wait now!” We also had a meal that was ordered but didn't come, after an hour we asked and were complained about! It wasn't our fault. Yes, it can happen, but from then on it seemed to us as if she was trying to avoid us on purpose! And if someone dared to criticize, she canceled the order, shouted at us and just wanted to go to the next table.
We were 5 adults and 6 children at the table. In the end it took a total of 1.5 hours until everyone had ordered and another 2.5 hours until everyone finally had their food. And that even though the terrace was partly empty and there was definitely less going on in the hut than the days before. This is how you can waste a day of skiing! By the time we got through we had to get to the bus!
If our kids weren't already looking forward to yeast dumplings and Kaiserschmarren, we would have preferred to go to the snack bar in Tahl! Despite the stress, he was always friendly on the first day!

Vale la pena dopo aver preso la funivia e magari fatto il giro panoramico sullo Jochtal fermarsi in questo ristorante. Si mangia bene e si gode di uno stupendo panorama anche dai numerosi tavoli situati all’esterno.
Fateci un salto se vi trovate nella zona non ve ne pentirete.
