An excellent restaurant very close to the Colosseum and the Vittorio Emanuel monument. We ended up there by pure luck. We had lasagna, spaghetti with meatballs, and some out-of-this-world artichokes. Coincidentally, the next day, the Colosseum guide recommended it to us.

Great pizza, and the service was brilliant and very attentive. My wife was pregnant, and they knew how to adapt a pizza so the ham was cooked evenly. Many thanks to Fabri, who served us with such professionalism and kindness.

Everything was delicious, I would definitely go again. The spaghetti alle vongole and the spaghetti frutti di mare were spectacular. I don't recommend this place if you don't speak English very well because they don't understand you in Spanish (which is understandable, but they do in other places), and if you speak English, you have to be very specific when ordering. Depending on the dish, you'll spend between €10-20 and €20-30 per person.

This time, we ordered the chicken, pork, fish, eggplant and grilled octopus, and all dishes were absolutely exceptional. The chicken roll was silky and rich, with just the right hint of earthiness from the beautiful herb stuffing — a dish that’s indulgent without being heavy. The octopus? Charred to perfection, tender, and delicately seasoned — it’s a standout plate that reminds you why you keep coming back. But it was the dessert that completely stole the show: a ricotta and pineapple creation so light, fragrant, and uplifting it felt like a breeze off the coast of Maui. It was smooth yet vibrant, the creamy ricotta paired with the brightness of pineapple in a way that was utterly transportive — a bite of summer on a plate, reminiscent of a sunlit day in Hawaii. It’s the kind of dessert that lingers in your memory long after the meal is done. The location is just as special. Tucked away in a vibrant pocket of the city, (Piazza Cavour) Benso strikes a perfect balance between stylish and warm. The ambiance is relaxed yet refined, with soft lighting, thoughtful décor, and a buzz that feels intimate rather than noisy. It’s the kind of space that invites you to slow down and savour the experience. The restaurant location adds to the magic — stylish yet welcoming, tucked away but buzzing with life. Benso's atmosphere hits that rare note of relaxed sophistication, making it equally perfect for an intimate lunch or dinner or a celebratory evening out. The service is consistently superb. Staff are attentive without being intrusive, friendly without being overly casual — always professional. Even on busy days, the wait times are minimal and clearly well-managed.
