14/08/2024: Very nice place, friendly staff, medium-low prices. The dishes were plentiful, we took the spaghetti with squid ink as first courses and they were very good and the spaghetti with clams which I didn't prefer because for my personal taste there was too much parsley which covered the flavor of the clams. As a second course we had fried calamari which was very filling, perfect even for two people. I would go back.
14/08/2024: Ah, Osteria Al Duomo in Murano—what a find! If you’re looking for a place where the food does the talking, this is it. We were a family of five, and let me tell you, it was the best dining experience we had in Venice and its surroundings, and we’ve had quite a few!
Now, imagine this: it’s a warm day, the sun is blazing, and you’re wandering through the enchanting streets of Murano. Where do you go to escape the heat? Straight to Osteria Al Duomo, where we found ourselves in their delightful shaded terrace at the back. It was an oasis—a cool, serene escape from the midday sun.
The service here? Relaxed, informal, and utterly charming. None of that pushy, pompous nonsense you sometimes get. It was almost as if they knew that once the food arrived, we’d be completely and utterly captivated—and we were. Every dish felt home-made, brimming with fresh, local ingredients that made each bite a pleasure.
I went for the fruit de la mer as I know it is fresh, and let me tell you, it was outstanding! Each mouthful was like a love letter from the sea—briny, fresh, and perfectly cooked. And the house wines? Well, they were delicious. You can tell they take pride in what they pour.
But here’s the thing—even if, like me, you’re not particularly inclined towards desserts, don’t skip them here. Trust me. We had the cheesecake and the strawberry spongecake, and both were absolutely divine. These are desserts that make you rethink your stance on sweets, I promise you.
And the best part? The cost was very reasonable—something you don’t always find in Venice, let me tell you. This isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an honest, genuine, and authentic Italian dining experience, the kind of place where you can easily imagine the locals gathering for a good meal.
So, if you’re anywhere near Venice, hop on over to Murano and make sure you stop by Osteria Al Duomo. You won’t regret it!
