Typical Romagna cuisine, good soups and first courses, perhaps the meat is a little tough.

A historic inn, the quality is consistently top-notch. Large dishes, a hearty appetizer. The first courses are exquisite. Wine on tap, the Sangiovese fabulous. A must-visit.

We went on our way back from the Oriental Festival. We had a sliced steak with a side of water, sweet coffee, and dessert for less than 30 euros. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked, a wonderful surprise! Friendly staff, fast and punctual service, and a quaint, rustic, clean, and well-kept restaurant. I recommend it!

If you're looking for artificial intelligence, ginger foam, or waiters explaining the geographical origin of every single grain of salt, you've got the wrong postal code. At Bastian Contrario in Rimini, gastronomic resistance is a serious matter: here, progress is viewed with the same suspicion a cat has of a vacuum cleaner.
As soon as we arrive, in the parking lot, we're greeted by the effigy of Passator Cortese, a sort of Romagna Robin Hood—a 19th-century bandit known for his skill at robbing wealthy people and his supposed generosity toward the poor.
The entrance is a dive back to the 1970s, with a rustic, country atmosphere enriched by a strong Romagna identity.
We tried the "immutable" €30 menu (price unchanged since 1971, or almost). Here's the verdict:
Appetizers: ✨
• Mixed cured meats platter: authentic, simple, delicious. The best way to start a meal that tastes of Romagna.
• Garden onion omelette: delicate, delicious, soft, it caresses your palate.
• Bastian Contrario peppers: they're the real gem, divinely cooked peppers, and that green cream sauce had something magical and spectacular.
• Tuna, beans, and onion (poor man's caviar): a little less memorable due to their vinegary aftertaste.
First courses: 😋
• Beans and pork rinds in a pot: the broth with beans is overpowering, but pork rinds, well... those are for the tough ones. Slimy, brazen, ignorant: you either love them or call a lawyer.
• Homemade maltagliati with chickpeas in a pot: the gentlest of the bunch, the most delicate ones should be eaten first.
• Pasta battuta e fagioli nel coccio: of the three pots, the best overall. The beans, becoming one with the pasta, created an inextricably tasty bond.
• Tagliatelle with Ragù: a bit ugly to look at, we admit. But as life teaches us, beauty is within; eating them was a whole different story. Porous, wrinkled, with a ragù that clung to the pasta like a castaway to a wreck. Exceptional.
Second Courses: 🥩
• Mixed Grill (Sausages, Ribs, Mutton, Chop): incredible in flavor and tenderness. The sore point? The quantity. Calling it meager is a compliment: for four people, the portion was so meager that we had to draw lots to see who would get the last rib. Bastian, be less stingy with the grill, please!
• Baked Potatoes and Field Salad.
The Grand Finale: Rivers of Wine and Well Water 🍷
The real stroke of genius is the unlimited wine, available straight from the barrel: a public danger to one's sanity, but a blessing for the spirit.
It closes with the cuccuma, Carmen's sweets, and the mysterious "Well Water."
Bastian Contrario is where time has stopped (and lost its keys).
A down-to-earth place, simple and genuine, like the dishes on offer. You come here to take bites of Romagna, to chat with the person sitting next to you while ignoring Instagram notifications. Here, time passes in a completely different way. You leave feeling full, a little tipsy, and with the knowledge that, sometimes, being a "Bastian Contrario" is the only way to stay human.

INFORMAL ATMOSPHERE; LOTS OF PEOPLE (perhaps a little too chaotic at times - my girlfriend and I went for dinner and we had a bit of trouble hearing each other [perhaps this is also a sign of the quality of the place] BUT STILL... -).
QUALITY FOOD AND REALLY LARGE PORTIONS. YOU NEED TO BE HUNGRY AND A LOT OF A DESIRE TO BE TOGETHER 😋 :P
SINCERE AND ENJOYABLE WINE, A MENU OFFER THAT'S VALUE FOR MONEY AND MORE THAN HONEST.
Highly recommended!
ENJOY YOUR MEAL.❣️ 😎👍

A very nice trattoria for enjoying the company of friends and family.
The atmosphere is a bit noisy, but nothing that can't make you forget the good food.
The appetizers are good, the first courses are very good, and the tagliatelle are excellent; the ragù is very well made. The only flaw is the smooth tagliatelle, which, personally, I prefer rougher, but they're still delicious.
All this is accompanied by a warm piadina.
UNLIMITED WINE is the key word, and it's very good, too.
The staff is friendly, polite, and very helpful with any requests.
Highly recommended.
