09/09/2025: We arrived at Lo Scalino on a stormy evening and had the entire marquee to ourselves. The intimate setting turned out to be incredibly romantic, setting the tone for one of the most memorable meals of our trip. From start to finish, the food was truly first class. My wife began with the seafood salad while I opted for the gnocchi with mussels both dishes were absolute standouts: fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. For our mains, we enjoyed the Trofie pasta and the Frittura. Once again, the ingredients spoke for themselves simple, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. If I had one small note, it would be that the Frittura had slightly more vegetables than expected in a seafood dish, but it was still thoroughly enjoyable. We finished with a refreshing Sgroppino, the perfect end to the meal. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server wore a smile, was attentive, and the pacing of the meal was spot-on unhurried yet efficient. Having been in Italy for 10 days, this was easily one of the highlights of our journey. We’re even considering returning before we leave. Highly recommended.
