Here you can find the only real wafers, they are part of the history of this place. I remember it from the stories of my grandmother who was a friend of the owner ❤️

I am almost 72 years old and I think I have met all the owners of this wonderful shop of wafers a sweet in Montecatini and even now when I return to my obese hometown I stop to taste these wafers.

Happening not by chance but by design, this point of sale is a gem, offering simple delicacies with a unique taste. Waffles, Brigidini, Cantucci, artfully made, which can become a personal pleasure or as a gift to offer something special at a popular price. Excellent raw materials, courtesy and smiles make it a staple, to be tried at least once (and then come back again).

Ristorante Rifugio PortaFranca

02/11/2025: I stayed at the Porta Franca refuge for lunch and dinner, staying in a shared room! What can I say? A wonderful experience, made even more so by the generous and kind welcome we received from the CAI volunteers! They were attentive and thoughtful, and I must say, very friendly! Honorable mention goes to Mrs. Cinzia and the other chef (forgive me, I don't remember her name) who delighted us with delicious dishes! Thanks also to our contact Alessandro, especially for the strudel he gave me for the return trip! Thank you so much!
07/10/2025: A lovely place to stop for a bite to eat or grab something to eat directly at the refuge. The food is spectacular and delicious.
