A wonderful experience. A historic restaurant offering high-quality service, both in terms of food and professionalism. An absolute must-see if you're staying in this beautiful city.

Obviously, you don't look at the menu prices here, but it was definitely a nice stop with hot chocolate and a bicerin. The brioche was delicious and the cake divine. The price was €78, but a mini glass of water was included with every drink. The service was very good, and the waitress was smiling and friendly.

Step back in time, with elegance in the heart of Turin.
Excellent cappuccino, a lovely, full-bodied foam, and a flavor that lingers in the mouth for hours. The brioche 🥐 is subdued, but good.
Friendly service, the younger generation a little awkward, but that's understandable.
Prices are obviously out of line, but this is an experience worth doing every now and then.
I'll be back for the hot chocolate, but more on that later... 😉

Valentine's Day 2026, a dinner on stairs with soft colors and a sweetish flavor, but lacking in passion. The menu seemed ambitious, technically well executed, and the quality of the ingredients was evident, but it was like giving a white chrysanthemum instead of a rose on this day. It's still a flower (and some people might like one), but it seemed like the menu was out of context, with some ultimately questionable pairings. The dining room staff was predominantly female, friendly, and professional, except for one mix-up at the end, when the entire staff had their backs turned to the dining room. The bill was €265, including a bottle of Alta Langa rosé. Would I return? Yes, but not on Valentine's Day.

🍫☕Baratti & Milan café, where you're reborn... with teaspoons of happiness
Sweet brother,
Entering Baratti in Piazza Castello isn't simply walking through a door:
it's like playing a C major with your heart.
You don't order a coffee here.
Here, you sign a secret pact with happiness.
As soon as you step into the room, you feel like you can hear—seriously—a small, invisible orchestra tuning the strings. The soft lights, the mirrors, the gentle stucco... everything whispers to you:
"Calm down, Claudio... now we can listen."
And while discreet, loving classical music accompanies your breath—a bit Mozart, a bit Debussy, a bit of your own dream—life, the rushing kind, the rushing kind like a delayed train, politely stays outside.
Then they arrive.
The real stars.
The hot chocolates.
But not just any hot chocolate.
A warm caress.
A liquid embrace.
A slow flute aria... with cocoa.
Baratti's chocolate is as dense as a confession, as fragrant as a promise, dark and luminous at the same time, just the way you like it: intense, but never arrogant.
It's vertical music: it enters the mouth... and descends directly into the soul.
And the desserts?
Small chamber masterpieces.
Pastry worthy of a string quartet.
Each miniature pastry is a variation on the theme of joy:
the cream that vibrates like a trill,
the chocolate that holds the basso continuo,
the shortcrust pastry that acts as a silent music stand for all the harmony.
You no longer know whether you're choosing a dessert
or an emotional tone.
The staff—elegant, kind, never theatrical—seems to know an unwritten rule:
here you don't serve...
you accompany.
Like a good pianist who knows when to enter
and when to let the soloist breathe.
And you, who experience music as an inner home, feel perfectly at home.
Because Caffè Baratti & Milano is not a historic bar.
It's a small concert hall for the tired soul.
A place where you are truly reborn.
Not with proclamations.
But with a warm cup in your hands
and a note floating in the air.
If Turin had a golden flute, dear Claudio,
it would play right here.
In Piazza Castello.
Between a hot chocolate and a cake.
And you, slowly,
breathe again as you know how:
in music. 🎶🍫

The welcome, service, and food were all very good.
The wait to order was about 20 minutes, but that was understandable given the restaurant was fully booked.
The restrooms were poorly maintained.
