Massimo was the most friendly, most attentive, most welcoming owner. He made my visit just so very human and personable. I stayed for a week in Amantea and Sicoli was my go-to since it was just a few yards away from my hotel. I had plenty of cappuccino and plenty of gelato, and the panini were good as well (the caprese in particular). The setting is amazing, with sweeping views of the lower town, sea and surrounding mountains. The food was very good (especially the peanut butter gelato!) and the prices were on par. Frequently very busy, sometimes simply empty and an easy place to sit for an hour with a coffee.
Very good ice cream, the whipped cream wasn't too sweet, and the Scandinavian cone wasn't very flavorful, but it was still very good ice cream! We'll be back.
