Sestante - Osteria di Mare In Venezia

Ristorante con ambiente moderno e curato. Menu’ quasi totalmente di pesce con alcuni piatti anche fuori carta. Servizio un po’ lento ma molto professionale. Piatti curati con abbinamenti delicati e creativi ma senza strafare ne risulta un gusto leggero ma non banale. La mia seppia scottata deliziosa e la volpina un piatto equilibrato con ottima cottura del pesce. Per finire un tiramisù espresso top! Esce dallo standard delle trattorie veneziane ma per chi ritorna spesso finalmente un ristorante di qualità con ottimo rapporto prezzo.

To avoid a poor evening weather forecast we reserved Sestante, just a few yards from our Hotel overlooking the lagoon. What a treat! Modern, spotless, outstanding service, clear and precise explanations of wine, food, cheese - it was an akin to a high end dining experience without an extortionate price tag. Every aspect superb - especially as my Husband eats no seafood! His mushroom starter, followed by roast quail were beautifully presented and tasted divine. I was blown away by the gourmet oysters and my main course of grilled eel was sensational - in particular the crispy eel skin. We plumped for the Veneto cheese selection which was a perfect end to an unexpectedly amazing dining experience. Already planning to go back - all from a restaurant which is part of a Hotel. A very high standard - Michelin should explore. Incredibly, when walking past Sestante on a following evening, the Front of House gentleman saw us and ran into the passageway, called after us and came to say hello and thanked us for our custom. Excellent wines too. can’t wait to go back.
