In a very busy day they welcomed us with kindness without having a reservation. This is a place you can eat like a true local. The white ragu was incredible and the millefollie the best ever!

Imperfect perfection- Osteria dal Moro was a very pleasant surprise. We visited during one of the biggest Italian holidays Ferragosto. It rained that day and they have moved all of the outdoor tables inside. We were seated in a small very hot room. But despite the heat and no AC nor fans in that small room, I've loved this place. The service is super genuine, the food was really good - I know I will come back to eat the cinghiale alla maremmana again. It was hands down 10/10. I can also say the same for their mille foglie made by Giulia. I hope next summer they will have an emergency fan for that small room in case it rains again.

The first courses were really good. I recommend the acquacotta and vegetable lasagna. The pizza in the photo was misshapen, the crust was raw, and there was a lot of raw flour. The tomatoes in the photo weren't listed among the ingredients, and there were traces of other unspecified ingredients. The pear stalk was on the pizza. The caprese salad isn't worth the expense.

My experience at this place was entirely positive. The circumstances, the choice of food, the location, the courtesy of the staff, and the connection with the kind gentleman who served us, along with the few words we exchanged (who told us he doesn't answer his phone when he's on the tractor 😊😊), have led me to leave a five-star review.
A corner table overlooking the Tuscan countryside, typical appetizers (for two, but shared by three and absolutely sufficient), a pizza with lard, cheese and honey (definitely unique, thin and with just the right amount of toppings), also shared by three, a rich plate of tagliatelle with Bianco pork ragù, an amazing millefeuille with Chantilly cream made to order and truly incredible in its fragrance and flavor, two glasses of Morellino di Scansano, water, two liqueurs, one of which was truly local, for a price of €82.00 meant we dined with a wonderful view, tried simple but well-made dishes, reduced food waste to zero (the three of us ate everything, even more than enough), and took home an experience worth repeating. It's easy to get there, and a 100-meter walk takes you to the village of Montemerano, which offers panoramic views of great beauty. Personally, I recommend it to anyone who finds this description a desirable setting for themselves.

Montemerano, ein verschlafenes Juwel in der Maremma, ist nicht nur für seine mittelalterliche Kulisse und engen Gassen bekannt, sondern auch für seine hervorragenden Osterien. Eine davon ist Dal Moro, wo wir einen unvergesslichen Abend verbracht haben – mit traumhafter Aussicht, authentischer toskanischer Küche und einer Atmosphäre, die gleichermaßen lebendig wie gemütlich ist.
Ambiente & Service
Die Dachterrasse bietet einen herrlichen Blick, und das Restaurant war durchgehend voll – ein gutes Zeichen. Viele Einheimische, viele Stammgäste. Der Chef selbst packt im Service mit an und nimmt sich Zeit für ein paar Worte mit den Gästen. Man fühlt sich willkommen, fast schon wie bei Freunden.
Speisen & Getränke
Der Abend startete mit einem klassischen Campari Spritz, begleitet von einer großzügigen Vorspeisen-Platte für eine Person – wobei „für eine Person“ hier eher untertrieben ist. Parmaschinken, Wildschweinschinken, Fenchelsalami, Lardo und Wildschweinpastete – bodenständig, herzhaft und typisch für die Region.
Als Hauptgang entschied ich mich für geschmorte Wildschweinrippchen und Schulter in Tomatensoße mit Oliven, dazu frittierte Polenta und Bratkartoffeln – ein absolutes Highlight. Meine Frau wählte die hausgemachten Pappardelle mit Wildschweinragout, unser Sohn eine Pizza. Alles war auf den Punkt, voller Geschmack und von bester Qualität.
Fazit
Dal Moro ist eine Osteria, wie man sie sich wünscht: klein, familiär, mit einer konzentrierten Speisekarte und Gerichten, die durch Qualität statt Quantität überzeugen. Wenn man in der Maremma ist, sollte man sich diesen Ort nicht entgehen lassen. 5/5 – eine absolute Empfehlung!
