Discovered this gem when visiting Siena. We walked past it, and it looked so good, we had to circle back. A wine bar with amazing, delicious food. We had a red wine tasting, and had two soups - vegetables & tomato. It was a cold day - and this was exactly what we needed. We were there just after lunch time, and didn't want to eat too much - but all around us tables were filled with incredible looking and smelling food. Wine was delicious - had an amazing red. Btw, the wait staff is incredibly sweet, accommodating and so beautiful! A true Italian treat!

Local in the center of Siena, friendly staff who allowed us to have lunch at Easter without booking. I took two appetizers and a platter of cured meats and cheeses accompanied by morellino. Everything was good except the bread which seemed dry and not very enjoyable. Account ok, service on time

Walking through the city of Siena, we found this small place specialized in wine. They had a small menu with several local dishes and we went in to avoid the typical tourist restaurants. We ordered the pasta in the photos and what a delight!! The pici, a typical Sienese dish, 100% recommended, the ragú too, but the pici surprised us!! Do not miss it!!

Tutta la tradizione culinaria senese. Nel cuore della città, a 2 passi da piazza del Campo. Gestito da ragazzo giovani e molto gentili. Pasta coi pici cacio pepe e bottarga.... Ottimi

01/04/2024: Sensational bruschettas, varied offerings and excellent raw materials. The only sore point is the price which seems excessive for less elaborate starters. The prices of the first courses are definitely more in line with the area. Good desserts!

01/04/2024: In addition to the restaurant, don't forget to visit the museum and visit the shop where you can buy Brunello of all vintages! If you ask, you can also visit the dairy and try the hidden pearl of this incredible place.
28/12/2023: 30 years - that is how long we have admired the wine dei Barbi produces. We finally were able to make the trip for a wine tasting. In December, they were not crowded and we had a lovely time going through the recent vintages as well as new offerings we are unable to get in the states. As someone that enjoys wine and have visited several wineries, we learned something new here - a high complement. The tasting room was cosy and our host full of details but not overbearing. Make the trip beyond Montalcino - and enjoy the craftsmanship of what a really good Brunello can deliver.
