A historic Padua restaurant overlooking Piazza delle Erbe, famous for its hot tramezzini, among the best are those with porchetta and zucchini or peppers, but also cabbage and soppressa, or herbs and mozzarella. The bathroom could be improved.

Having just recently moved to Padua, I stopped at this bar today for the first time.
Well-filled rectangular sandwiches with a wide selection, and I really appreciated being asked if I wanted it hot or cold. The Spritz had just the right amount of alcohol 😅, and the hot chocolate with cream was more than delicious.
I recommend sitting well under the umbrellas because even the pigeons ate a lot these holidays 😅😅😅.
As an adult mother with a minor child, my heartfelt appreciation goes to a waiter who asked four young girls who were ordering a Spritz for their ID, which they obviously didn't provide because they were minors 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.

A must-see for tourists in Padua! Highly recommended for a break overlooking the square, accompanied by excellent tramezzini with a wide selection and interesting combinations. I definitely recommend the tramezzino with capuccino and soppressa!

The tramezzini at Bar Nazionale are an institution, absolutely worth trying. They're hot, and it may seem like a heresy, but they're exceptional. A pleasant place, with very friendly and helpful staff. Prices are low for a location in Padua's most famous square.

The restaurant is located in the squares of the historic centre of Padua, with lovely tables outside in the sun overlooking the square, excellent aperitifs and sandwiches, I highly recommend it.

Among the best (if not the best) tramezzini in Padua, hands down, generously sized and tasty. The coffee is good, the spritzes are good, but perhaps a bit lacking in the variety of pastries. A bit pricey, but you also pay for the elegant location.
The only downside is some unlicensed vendors who act aggressively and insistently toward customers, bumping into them and violating their personal space after politely refusing their products.

This is a great tramezzino, to be savored down to the last, unforgettable bite...which you'll console with a second one, for sheer goodness 😉. The bold will arrive on the third.
Plain or warmed on the grill, they're a joy for the palate.
The filling is the secret: two and a half fingers of top-notch ingredients.
The display case displays the flavors enclosed in two soft rectangles of sandwich bread. My favorite is sopressa, red cabbage, and cheese, because I forget to look at the display case under the porticoes where the connoisseur flavors with mortadella or peppers are hidden...
Forgetting a flavor is my technique for returning, because this place is timeless. The only downside is the somewhat cold service. Understanding that the ordering schedule doesn't allow for many distractions... working with a smile changes your life, it could be the turning point for the perfection this place can achieve 🤩. Hurry and try it!

We went there on the recommendation of friends for a spritz and tamezzini. The Aperol spritzes were excellent. The tramezzini were also excellent, all delicious. I recommend the tuna and spring onions, the stewed cabbage and aged cheese.
We'll definitely be back!!!
