Aperitivo bar in Padua's historic center with seating overlooking the square, it feels like paradise when there's a bit of sun. The cocktails are good, not too large, but perfect for a couple. The Spritz offers a perfect mix in many variations, rightfully priced at €4. The tramezzini are fantastic. Hot, they're like a meal, and there's a great variety. The tramezzini aren't triangular, but rectangular, but they're perfect all the same. Overall, a great place for an aperitivo, so much so that finding a table is often a challenge. It doesn't get a full rating because the plastic chairs and tables ruin the atmosphere a bit, but I understand that practicality wins out in this case.

The National sandwiches are a must-try if you're in Padua! Delicious!

A very atmospheric terrace in Piazza delle Erbe where you can taste delicious Tramezzini. A wide variety of tasty combinations of flavors. The special thing about the Nazionale is that they are served grilled. Paired with a Spritz, they go down really well warm.

Great spot at lunchtime to grab a few tramizzini sandwiches (€3.00 to €3.50) and a few drinks with a view onto the Piazza delle Erbe.

Food was okay, waiters weren't particularly friendly and didn't speak English.

Aperitivo in the heart of the city's most famous bar. Excellent variety of tramezzini, which are their specialty; too bad the one we wanted wasn't available because it sold out! The staff was a bit aloof, but quick. Delicious and filling tramezzini, good prices considering the location!

Bar Nazionale is one of Padua's go-to aperitivo spots. Located in the famous Piazza delle Erbe, on the corner beneath the Palazzo della Ragione, on the side of the square's famous fountain, it's famous for its impeccably filled hot tramezzini with the perfect combination of flavors—truly the best in the city. Lately, the bar has been struggling to find staff, which unfortunately affects its service and its reputation.
