Delicious pastries, I dream about them at night. The croissants are divine; the dough and the filling are truly generous. I've never tasted better croissants. Beautiful interior with frescoes on the ceiling, always clean bathroom, and super helpful and friendly staff. The prices are fair: €1.50 for a pastry, something I'd pay €5 for. It's become a regular.

We have been in italy for 11 days, in 5 different cities and can say, whilst all bakeries have been lovely - this one has been the absolute best we've tried yet! Greeted by a really lovely, helpful (and patient while we decided) man and ordered tasty treats which were amazingly priced for how good they were - ready for our sunrise view at piazzale michelangelo. Best way to start the day

05/10/2025: Historic Florentine pastry shop. The owners and pastry chef have been the same for at least 20 years... consistently top-quality products. Excellent for breakfast (savory or sweet) as well as for cakes, such as the chocolate and semolina cake, the schiacciata alla fiorentina, or their zuccotto. Another delicacy that very few make anymore are the savory cheese biscuits... crumbly and incredibly flavorful, a great choice for a cocktail hour at home.

Pizzeria Buca della Fate

01/11/2025: I ordered a pizza to go and they told me it would be ready in less than 5 minutes, so I asked them to wait a little longer because I had to go get my car. When I returned, they made me wait at least 20 minutes. The pizza wasn't bad, nothing special. It's one of the few pizzerias in the area if you don't want to go to Florence for dinner, so it could be an option. Just remember that in Italy you always pay per person, so in the case of a pizzeria, it's not justified in my opinion.
25/10/2025: Just wonderful pizza. Don't be confused, they only do pizza, but really good pizza. Been to many, they are busy, business like and efficient. You should book. We luckily got in for a one hour slot on a Saturday evening in October without a reservation. Thank you we left full and happy.
