A popular café for tourists and students in Bologna. A unique atmosphere in the heart of Bologna, at the foot of Palazzo Re Enzo. Breakfast is less extensive than other nearby bakeries, and service is a bit poor.

I frequented this bar often in the early 2000s, and at Christmas 2024 I returned with great emotion. I found it intact, as if suspended in time: the antique furniture, the azulejos, the scattered newspapers, and—incredibly—the same lady at the counter as back then. The coffee, more than decent, is among the cheapest in northern Italy. For me, a place close to my heart.

We had three cocktails: the gin and tonic was nothing special, and the Moscow mule wasn't to our liking. I wouldn't recommend it.

23/03/2025: La pizza di Berberè è davvero ottima, non è tra le migliori solo di Castel Maggiore, ma di tutta Bologna, e dintorni! Ottimo impasto, condimenti freschi, messi in uscita (come, ad esempio, il prosciutto crudo, l'olio), davvero gustosi! Si mangia volentieri tutto, anche i cornicioni. La birra è ottima, ho gustato anche i dolci che non sono male. Bravi! L'unica cosa: consiglio di controllare sempre la pulizia del forno, durante la cottura, perchè anche se in minima quantità, della farina bruciacchiata sotto la pizza, sarebbe da evitare.

21/11/2025: Nice restaurant, very simple and a bit old-fashioned. The staff is young, friendly, attentive, and always ready. The food is good quality, professionally cooked. The prices are average.
