Bar dell'Angelo In Vicoforte

We only had New Year's Eve dinner, and I have to say it was a perfect evening. The place was obviously packed, but the service was fast and attentive. The girls were always available and smiling. The food was excellent and varied. At the end, since we wanted to go to the square for midnight and not spend it at the restaurant, a very kind lady gave us a bottle of sparkling wine before we left. These things make all the difference.

I'm writing this review on the last night I stayed here with my mom, and I'm truly sad to leave this enchanting Grotta dell'Angelo tomorrow! We spent two wonderful days here in beautiful Gubbio, in this hotel located in the heart of the historic center, close to some of the main attractions, as well as a pharmacy, post office, tobacconist, and newsstand. It's also close to convenient free underground parking. This hotel has style, an ancient and elegant feel that makes you feel at home. Even if you're staying here for the first time, you feel like you're returning to a place you've been before, one of those beautiful childhood memories where you fell in love with the place and the days seemed eternal. The owners are extremely kind and helpful, the grill master is impeccable, the waitresses are super friendly, charming, and professional... the cuisine is epic in every sense, delicious food and generous portions! The room is spacious and clean, this hotel has heart and soul in every way, and it's run by wonderful people. And when you smoke a cigarette at the end of the day, before going to bed, in the alleyway accessible from the back exit, you reflect and feel grateful for the wonderful experience this place and the people who work here have given you. Thank you so much, guys (and girls!), we're so happy we stayed with you, we recommend everyone do the same, and even Donald Duck (whom I have here on my bedside table) shares! We'll be back! :)

Absurd. I have no idea why it only has 2 stars. Maybe it's because the owner doesn't believe in these things, since she's so sweet. As for the food, it's out of this world, homemade and sophisticated all at the same time. Pumpkin tortelloni with gorgonzola and guanciale... I wanted to take a photo but didn't have time... they were already eaten before being served, hahaha. I'm a mess and disorganized. I come home dead tired and find everything tidy and organized. The rooms are small but cozy, but it's not so much the luxurious location and gourmet cuisine that make the difference... the difference is the people who welcome you, and they are truly wonderful. Nothing to add.
