Bar equipped with large rooms overlooking the national road and the seafront. Mediocre service. Although it is said to be the only pastry shop in the area, you can only find biscuits. They have a refrigerated counter with a display of their ice cream cakes. At first sight they look like they were made by a beginner I couldn't say about the taste though. Prices are normal for the tourist location. Staff already tired at 9m00 in the morning

15/09/2024: Pippo Mento, my father, made the history of this bar, with his ice cream.
23/08/2024: We were in Messina on holiday and found this bar/pastry/ice cream shop on Google. What can I say, crazy granita and formidable choice of flavors thanks to the help of the waiter. Wonderful brioches of their own production. I recommend everyone to stop by and it's also an accessible place even if you disembark at the port. Granita with cream + artisan brioche for €3.50 I think among the best prices in all of Messina

Al Buongustaio

17/11/2024: I tried the focaccia and some rustici here on November 3, 2024. Focaccia (various types all at 12 euros per kilo) well toasted and of the right crunchiness with quality ingredients. On rustics you can vary a lot. In addition to the usual arancini, mozzarella in carrozza and pidoni, you can find other innovative fillings (chicken strips, gorgonzola and speck, turnip tops and sausage, etc.). Note of merit also for the service. My girlfriend suffers from food allergies and they did everything to avoid contamination. Definitely coming back.
01/09/2024: Last evening in Sicily, as a farewell we needed a nice feast at the Buongustaio! EVERYTHING EXCELLENT, I would say that we really needed a goodbye ❤️
