what a lovely little gem to have found during our stay in menaggio!! we stumbled upon this bar and took it as a great sign that it seemed to be filled with locals to the town. the beer and wine was great, and the pizza was just what we needed after a long day of travelling to get to menaggio. the only issue we had was a slight language barrier with our waitress, who maybe wasn’t used to seeing many tourists pop up in her bar, but we didn’t fault her for it at all - instead ourselves for not learning more italian!! the experience felt so very authentic and warm, we got chatting to some locals who had lived in the town for decades. such a welcoming and unassuming little bar in a beautiful town.

To reach the return boat. it's perfect. Nothing exceptional, a small factory, nothing typical. It's simply good. Quite noisy place.

Située au carrefour de deux ruelles au calme, ce bar restaurant est idéal pour manger à deux et dans un petit courant d’air après une journée dans la chaleur. La carte est assez variée et offre des choix multiples pour de plats simples : pâtes pannini et pizzas

Located at the crossroads of two quiet streets, this bar restaurant is ideal for eating for two and in a little breeze after a day in the heat. The menu is quite varied and offers multiple choices for simple dishes: pannini pasta and pizzas.

-Very tasty Limoncello Spritz (7€). -Panini Parma was very tasty, slightly warm and well topped (6€) -Unfortunately the carbonara was a mistake. Very little pasta and all the ham would have fit on half a teaspoon (12€) -Lasagne was tasty but also very little (12€) Our entire dinner totaled €38.50. Cuperto was not calculated.

28/10/2024: We are so thankful for Hotel Riviera! Long story: my wife & I were driving a rental car along Tremezzo area, when we encountered two flat tyres at 12 midnight! Called the towing service, and they said they can only tow the next day since it was a Sunday. So we were basically stuck the whole night, and our b&b was at the other side of the lake (1hr 30 minutes drive). We had to scramble for a overnight stay. In desperation, we went to every hotel along the road to find a last minute accommodation, until we found Hotel Riviera. We rang the intercom and the owner, Andrea answered. Thankfully he is fluent in English. Even though he was already getting ready to sleep, he offered us a room for the night. Room is cosy, bed is comfortable & the toilet had heated flooring after a good shower! The next day, we met Andrea in the breakfast area. Andrea & his dad are one of the sweetest & kindest people we met in our Italy trip! He prepared breakfast for all his hotel guests. He happened to be friends with the towing person! He even helped to coordinate with him so that we can have our breakfast before heading to the towing spot. We are just so glad that we survived this situation & thankful for Andrea & his dad! 1 star for the rental car. But 5+ stars for Hotel Riviera! HAHA
