Our group of cyclists arrived in San Donato on Wednesday 21st May. The owner, Mr. Luigi, opened the "Baita" just for us, preparing delicacies that satisfied our huge appetite! We were all really impressed by the availability, hospitality and friendliness of Mr. Luigi.

Si mangia molto bene alla Baita Malieni a San Donato di Ninea. Le orecchiette fresche con porcini erano deliziose. Giuseppe is very friendly and very available.
He also stayed at the B&B "Il Risveglio del Borgo" and preferred all the other "Il Nido dell'aquila" which had the same charm.......
Very nicely located B&B (Il Risveglio del Borgo) with great views and a beautiful sunrise from the balcony. You feel welcomed by Giuseppe, who is very personable and helpful. He also runs the Baita Malieni restaurant, where the food is excellent. I like to recommend the Orecchiette Fresche ai Funghi Porcini.
I prefer this B&B to the other one (Il Nido dell'Aquila) which is too expensive for my taste for one person to stay. I paid €75 for the room for single use. It offers no added value and, in my opinion, borders on a rip-off.
This beautiful B&B is in the same location (Il Risveglio del Borgo) and has a very friendly and helpful property. Très belle vue depuis the balcony au paysage and au lever du soleil. Giuseppe also owns the restaurant Baita Malieni on many different levels. I recommend the Orecchiette Fresche and Funghi Porcini.
I prefer the B&B in the mainland (Il Nido dell'Aquila) to find a tropical place. J'ai payé pour moi seul € 75.- pour une nuit. A la limite de l'amaque qui ne porte pas de valeur suplémentaire.
Very nice B&B (Il Risveglio del Borgo) and very sympathetic and accommodating owner (Guiseppe). You feel yourself instantly at home. Don't miss the sunrise from the balcony!

When you don't know whether the welcome or the quality of the food and service is better.
Giuseppe is an excellent host and has people at his side who live their work with passion and smiles.
The hut is simply wonderful
The dishes - porcini polenta fondue / porcini orecchiette pepper crusco / San Donatese sausage are spectacular.

PS for tourists (like me): but doesn't anyone suffer from high blood pressure in Calabria? :)))

The best porcini fondue of my life! A surprising and tender slow-cooked n’duja-glazed pork shank. Very fragrant puffed and crunchy peppers.

Siamo due amiche escursioniste e percorrendo il sentiero Italia in Calabria abbiamo cenato in questo carinissimo ristorante, cibo ottimo e staff gentilissimo, ci hanno persino riaccompagnato all’ ostello in auto dove dormivano perché pioveva a dirotto ! Consigliatissimo ! Bravi e grazie

Sono stato in questa baita di domenica con la mia famiglia. Eravamo 4 persone.
Colpisce subito la gentilezza di chi ci lavora. La baita è molto bella e caratteristica. Ci è stato dato qualche consiglio che abbiamo felicemente accettato. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo. Abbiamo condiviso due antipasti della baita e una fonduta di formaggio con funghi e polenta, quest'ultima era davvero buona. Poi abbiamo preso la pasta. Molto buono tutto.
