There were four of us and we had a truly wonderful time. The place is welcoming, modern, and meticulously crafted. The service was excellent, with the staff being incredibly friendly. The Pinza was a real discovery: crispy on the outside, soft and well-risen on the inside, with top-quality toppings. We also tried the arancini: perfectly fried, evenly browned, impeccably crispy, and not at all greasy, just the right amount of moisture. The desserts were a revelation, a worthy end to an already excellent dinner. Highly recommended!

A pleasant discovery, the food was excellent and easy to digest, the ambiance was meticulously designed, as were the dishes, and the welcome was truly warm! The owner and staff were also excellent, always ready to chat with everyone, offer explanations, and make you feel welcome (which is not a given). I'm happy to see that in Locri, where I've been for at least 15 years, so many establishments have sprung up over the years, with such quality! Greetings from Verona, and see you soon!

First time trying Pinze!!! Was unbelievable (MUST try the charcoal dough!🤤) best meal I’ve had yet in Italy so far, without a doubt! The Arancini first was UNREAL, far better than anything I tried in Sicilia. Friendly service and an awesome location put the cherry on top💯, don’t have a single negative word to say!!! Stopping by once more before leaving, and I cannot wait!! Thanks again!

High-quality rotisserie and pinsa; even a simple arancini are made with carefully selected, top-quality ingredients. Very friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended!

Everything was excellent!!! The quality of the ingredients was superb, the dough was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The combinations were unusual and well thought out! We'd definitely go back! The only downside was that the air conditioning wasn't enough to maintain a comfortable temperature.

Sbalorditiva. La pinza da Vincenzo è unica. Croccante fuori e morbida dentro. Eccezionali gli ingredienti, freschissimi e di prima qualità. Ogni morso è una vera delizia per il palato. L'ambiente è accogliente e curato. Che dire dei dolci. Il pan di spagna con crema chantilly e mandorle tostate una delizia. Vincenzo, il proprietario, sempre gentile, attento e disponibile. La sua passione si percepisce in tutto, dal servizio al cibo. Consigliatissimo. Torneremo!

Refined attention to every detail and flavor... a first course with the catch of the day with a citrus aroma like nothing you've ever tasted before... every ingredient is on the palate, the lime and bergamot are unique aromas... a Sicilian-style swordfish with a softness and a truly Wow-like aroma of the sea... and a delicate and enveloping red fruit crème brûlée... a refined cellar with wines, spirits, cheeses, and refined details... a wonderful experience for our area, where tradition and innovation blend with great art... go there and congratulations to the Scali family... 💝
26/10/2025: We went to this place for the first time today... new, very welcoming and well-kept... very kind staff and above all excellent food... for my celiac son everything was excellent... in fact they prepared delicious potato croquettes for him on the spot... top desserts... highly recommended and we will be back soon

21/09/2025: The Academy isn't just a restaurant...it's a journey of flavors. And Cogliandro isn't just a chef, albeit an extraordinary one...he's an artist. The strascinati are the best swordfish and eggplant pasta dish I've ever eaten. Anyone who comes to Reggio Calabria cannot miss out on an experience in this wonderful place.
16/09/2025: We met Chef Cogliandro and his cuisine 12 years ago, and since then he has celebrated every anniversary. His cuisine is a crescendo of culinary experiences and sensations that highlight his love for the region and guide the palate in the discovery of extraordinary pairings. The dining room staff is always attentive and friendly, the view is enchanting, and the spaces are well-maintained. Beyond his cuisine, credit goes to the person: from the first moment we met him, he introduced himself as Filippo, a sociable, humble, and honest man who has fought on the front lines for the legality of the Reggio Calabria region. He also took two unaccompanied minors under his wing, teaching them the trade, leading them to great national recognitions. In short, eating at A Gourmet is an experience that is good not only for the palate but also for the heart. Go there! And you'll come back again.
