We visited Azienda Agricola Tommaso Bosco for a wine tasting, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Tomasso himself did a fantastic job guiding us through his wines and the history of the estate, including the family background and how the winery was restarted in 2014. He came across as an honest, straightforward and passionate person, and he gave us a great understanding of the challenges small wineries face. Most importantly, the wines were outstanding and truly memorable. We especially loved the Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG “Oltrevalle” and the Monferrato Rosso DOC “Tranvaj”. The Ruchè showed intense floral and red-fruit aromas with an elegant, well-balanced palate, while the Monferrato Rosso offered a more tannic, balsamic character with notes of orange peel, red fruit and menthol. Both were unique and convinced us to take them home with us. This is not a guided tour, which was exactly in line with our expectations, but rather a tasting experience on your own terms. That made it feel relaxed, personal and authentic, and it was a perfect contrast to the larger, more industrial producers. We would have loved to bring back many more bottles, but since we were flying home, we had to be selective about what we could take with us. A wonderful experience overall, with great wines, an authentic story and a host who made the tasting genuinely special.

We visited the Ruché Festival in Castagnole Monferrato and had the opportunity to taste more than a dozen Ruché wines from different producers. Among all of them, the Ruché from local winemaker Tommaso Bosco truly stood out and was, for our personal taste, the best of the festival. The wine from Azienda Agricola Bosco was wonderfully fruity, elegant, and vibrant — a young wine full of character and passion. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to visit the winery afterwards for an exclusive tasting experience. At the winery, we received a very warm welcome and a professional introduction to the six different wines produced by Tommaso Bosco. The tasting was accompanied by a generous platter of fresh cheese and salami, as well as delicious roasted hazelnuts from the region, which paired perfectly with the wines. Everything was excellent, and we ended up buying several dozen bottles of different varieties, along with some bags of roasted hazelnuts to take a little piece of Piedmont back home with us. A wonderful and authentic experience — highly recommended for anyone visiting the region!
