Autogrill In Modena

Eataly Autogrill One of those stops that starts well and ends with a wide-eyed smile. The service? Fast, efficient, almost surprising for a service station. The pizza (nothing special, but a bit of praise) was quite good, the tartare was really good. In short, everything seemed to be running smoothly. Then she arrives. On the menu, in large, proud print: "Eataly French Fries | €6.50" Untreated Avezzano potatoes, steamed and fried on the spot, with a Mediterranean sauce made of mayonnaise, mustard, anchovies, capers, rosemary salt, and lemon. I'm already ecstatic. I order them without hesitation, anticipating the bite. Too bad the ones that arrive are just ordinary French fries. Cold. Sad. Frozen. Only later, looking at the menu, do I discover they're available too. For €5.50. If I'd seen them, I would have specified. But perhaps—just perhaps—the waitress could have asked, "The 6.50 or the regular ones?" Nothing. The regular ones arrived. No sauce. No Avezzano. No poetry. Overall? Better than a service station, but not enough to make me forget the potatoes. The real ones, promised but never arrived.

We only stopped for a quick break, but it wasn't one of the nicest service stations I've ever seen. At 7:00 AM, the bathrooms were in truly questionable condition; I just hope the cleaners were coming by. The prices for food were high, and for drinks, I'd say average. Empty croissants were €1.80, and all the others were €2.50. We ordered a caffè macchiato (€1.50) and a double ginseng (€2.50), both to-go. However, it took us a long time to receive them, not because there was a line, but because they had to remake the coffees several times: first because they became two take-away ginsengs and a regular coffee from the counter, then a caffè macchiato and a ginseng from the counter, and then, after several attempts and repetitions, we finally received our coffees. It's also a shame about the two cremini, which seemed like they were free, but in reality we paid for them, even if they weren't more than €2 in total. A little too sweet. If I'd been able to choose the flavor, I probably would have chosen a different one since we were paying for them. It could be better!

Excellent, but paying at the cashier is a bit annoying, as it is far from the counter, but not bad anyway.

Fantastic service station with a huge selection, obviously high prices but we're still talking about Eataly.

Abbiamo fatto una sosta per un pranzo veloce al self service Sarni ed abbiamo avuto una gradevolissima esperienza e conoscenza con là chef Yamila e le sue gentili colleghe. Ci siamo fermati per una breve sosta durante il nostro viaggio lavorativo verso la Lombardia. Il caffè mi è piaciuto e ammetto di aver trovato anche i bagni puliti. Sicuramente sopra la media degli autogrill. La nostra visita si riferisce a maggio 2024, come visionabile dallo scontrino allegato.
