Eataly is a good option if you are on the road towards Bologna and on A1. The restaurant is open from 12:00 until 15:00 and have very descent options with pasta, pizza, second course fish or meat and salads. They have enough seatings also for bigger groups and small kids play area making it interesting also for small kids. The average price per dish is between 12-16€ which is a bit high but considering the brand and Autogrill is acceptable. The quality of food and service was very good.

Perfect for frequent travelers because it doesn't have the typical restaurant menu found everywhere. Seasonal and regional dishes like peposo (pictured). I loved the tartare. I recommend getting coffee downstairs, as it's a bit pricey at €2.50 if served at your table.

We stopped at Eataly in Secchia Ovest during a highway trip, drawn by the name and the idea of eating something good. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the Tagliere Via Emilia for €16.50: standard cold cuts, but with just two tigelle. Two. For a platter at that price, I would have expected much more. The bread was brought to us at the end of the meal—after we'd already finished. The icing on the cake: the first courses are delivered by a robot. Nice the first time, perhaps, but in a place called Eataly, it almost sounds like a joke. Definitely not recommended for the quality-price ratio.

This motorway service station is one of three where the Autogrill group has partnered with the Slow Food supermarket Eataly. While the result is still quite chaotic, the quality of the food and drinks is simply far superior to what you'd normally find at a motorway service station. I recommend the piadina stand on the ground floor. And if the restaurant on the first floor is open, definitely go for it.
