Aurora Taverna Toscana In Vicopisano

We went on a Sunday, with a reservation made that morning (we were lucky). A friend had told me about it. It was a truly delicious lunch: artichokes, parmesan cheese and olive oil as an appetizer, a prosciutto platter with crostini; homemade tagliolini with pioppini mushrooms as a first course; and braised beef with polenta as a second course. Everything was delicious. We also had a divine steak, fried artichokes, and eggplant parmigiana. The house wine was good, a Bolgheri, if I'm not mistaken. And to finish, a very good cheesecake. The only flaw was that we were in the small room to the right of the entrance, and the door was always open (it was a sunny Sunday and there were people dining outside). The room has a sliding door, which was always open, letting in a bit of cold. But that's a minor detail, considering the quality of the food and the friendly, direct attitude of the person waiting for us. To be returned.

A typical Tuscan restaurant located on the village's main square. Authentic rustic decor. Excellent local cuisine. The white truffle pasta was superb! Delicious fried baby artichokes. Superb rib-eye steak! Paradoxically, apart from the truffle, the prices are high.

A quaint place, excellent soups, and truly delicious grilled meat. It's worth coming back.

Must try. The tagliolini alla maremmana are similar to carbonara but less famous. The stew is superb, as is the chicken leg. Generous portions. Well done!!!!!!

Located in the main square of Vicopisano, in a historic building. The menu is traditional yet varied. All the dishes we tried were very well executed. There's also a veranda, but we recommend a table inside.

Last night, for the "fried food" night advertised on social media, I went with my mother and aunt. The place is delicious both inside and out. The fried food is very good, light, and the oil is clean. The only flaw, in my opinion, is the bill; €25 for two (two real) eggplant meatballs, six pieces of rabbit (counted, so two per person), six pieces of chicken, and a small piece (one) of fried chop. Fried vegetables and French fries. I understand that vegetables are cheaper, but if I'm coming for rabbit, chicken, and fried chops, then so be it! I would have preferred a proper appetizer, like a charcuterie board, as advertised. All in all, aside from the bill, a positive experience!

We had a very good meal in this nice restaurant just on the “town square” of Vicopiscano. Good filet of beef with mushrooms and the pasta carbonara was tasty but the “bacon” was spec which is a bit fatty. The server was helpful in letting us try a few wines to get to the perfect choice! VictorB
