If you love cod, this is your temple. The place is welcoming, perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or a Sunday lunch with the family. Having said that, even those who aren't crazy about cod will find valid alternatives including a pasta with bottarga and space tuna together with traditional first courses

A small, welcoming restaurant with an open kitchen and friendly, helpful staff. The menu is interesting, with a special focus on cod (the restaurant's specialty). I particularly enjoyed the calamarata with cod, but the fish-filled olives were a little less so. For a seafood restaurant, the prices are average, though I found some items a bit pricey. I found the desserts to be very showy, but not generous. The quality of the ingredients is good.

31/08/2025: Historic venue, wonderful hospitality, and truly exquisite dishes! Highly recommended.
31/08/2025: An absolutely positive experience! We ate typical Roman dishes and found them delicious! The coda alla vaccinara is a must-try. If you get the chance, ask Paola to tell you the story of Ardito, which is one of the few historic restaurants in Rome still open!

Ristorante Checco al 13

22/07/2025: The only thing I could improve on: the prosciutto is served on a tray with ice, and then everyone takes their portion and places it on their plate without ice. Here, however, today they served my prosciutto with a mountain of ice underneath, right on my plate. With all that ice, it was difficult to separate the flesh from the shrimp and scampi.
18/07/2025: We came with all our colleagues for lunch. Andrea was truly fantastic and kind, attentive to our needs... congratulations!
