The best arancini I've eaten so far. Clean and very nice place. Absolutely try arancina with ragù and horse meat.

The best arancino I ate during my stay in Sicily. Wide choice of flavors and there is the possibility to also choose cutting boards or rotisserie such as pizzas and rustici. We took ragù, mushrooms and horse meat. The classic is the best nothing to take away from others.

Classic arancino: I'm not very convinced, the rest says very good Arancino with sausage: Pier says no, the others overdo it Arancino with aubergines and mint: the vegan choice is appreciated by all Arancino with horse meat: to Franci it looks like wild boar meat, the best of all Arancino with butter: Pier and Frank were too full to eat it, Franci and Giuli appreciated it Clean and welcoming bathrooms: 2 out of 4 satisfied Summary: from 0 to 10 -> chickpeas

My first proper Arancini so can't really compare but wow; super tasty and really filling. Had cannoli for desert, great value meal 🍴 Staff were helpful. Place was empty on my visit so can't really judge atmosphere but would definitely recommend!!

Arancine enormi e buonissime, così come le panelle ed il panino con i “cazzilli”; anche la frittura di pesce molto buona, consigliatissimo.

Nostos Bistrot

13/08/2024: We’ve been coming to Ortgia 18 years but found the average restaurant offering inspiring and had largely given up, opting to cook dinner at home, and have breakfast out. Happily, Nostos opened near by and we made a booking. The restaurant is decorated to give a lovely intimate atmosphere with subtle lighting and Bossa Nova music playing. The staff were attentive and kind. My dining partner had a selection of arancini and fried squid with fries, while I had caponata followed by sea bream. All was delicately prepared and bursting with flavour. Obviously made with passion and love. The cannolo and lemon sorbet rounded off the meal. The house white wine was very nice. A great dining experience for a reasonable price. We’re looking forward to bringing our guests here. Totally recommend
04/08/2024: We had dinner two nights ago. It tastes divine, I had stuffed squid with an orange aftertaste, never tasted like this, to date the best I have ever tasted. Courteous waiters, quiet place. Absolutely worth going there. Congratulations again to the chef

A Maidda

26/05/2024: A hidden gem on a narrow one-way street in Lentini, A Maidda serves up a wonderful dining experience that I'm fortunate to have stumbled upon. Beyond the front section and its tables are tunnels which Executive Chef Salvatore says was used by Greeks of antiquity to escape enemies when the city was under attack. Today, they keep wine safe from Sicily's summer heat; a no less important task. I went with a few friends and left the evening's selection to the Salvatore. He presented a four course meal that began with an antipasto of seasonal vegetables: Pepperoni, caponata, zucchini, and artichoke hearts amongst others. A trio of pasta dishes followed as the primi: fusilli flavored with pesto, pistachio, and eggplant with mint. Sausages of wild pork drizzled with balsamic came out next as the secondi. Traditional Sicilian cannoli were dessert with a digestif homebrewed by the chef from a native plant that struck me as a cross between wild sage and mint. It was sweet, but strong. Imbibe responsibly. And naturally, espresso was served last because drinking coffee at 11pm is what Italians do. When in Rome I guess. It was a lovely meal and I intend to return soon to try the chef's speciality, linguine with blood orange and tuna.
