One of those places you don't expect, one of those bars that seems to come out of a Hemingway story. Where people sit outside, perhaps unaware of where they are, but feeling good there because it's a clean place. The coffee is cheap, the desserts are good. The waiters are quick and quick, everything has, in a place like the Appia Antica, a scent that is so untouristy and so Roman that it seems like an oasis in the midst of the noise.

This cafe was so good I don’t know where to start. My family got chicken salad, panini with tomatoes and mozzarella, and a mushroom and sausage lasagna. I got the lasagna and my daughter asked me “Is it better than the one I had yesterday?” I said it probably is. Than we got desserts we loved all off them. We got the Meringa, pistachio nut thing, and the pear and ricotta torta. We wish we could have more but we were full and it was one of the best lunches we ever had in Rome.

Probably worst latte I had in Italy. And dirty spoon. But stuff is good, friendly and helpful.

Paramos para almorzar durante nuestro viaje en bicicleta a este pequeño café lindo. La comida ya está preparada en una vitrina y pides y la calientan. Pedido parmesano de berenjena y una ensalada. Estaba bueno, pero las porciones podían ser más grandes. Pero en general fue una parada relajante en un entorno lindo.

C'est la deuxième fois que nous venons, à 12 ans d'intervalle, et toujours un super accueil plein de gentillesse, des plats (salades pour nous) simples, généreux et délicieux, un lemon soda pas trop sucré (ça change de ceux que j'ai pris dans d'autres endroits à Rome). Nous étions prêts pour partir sur la via Apia Antica avec les vélos loués devant le café. Je recommande à 200%. Sylvie
