Another iconic and divisive place, I recently returned, stopping for a coffee and only the biting cold and the hour kept the tourists and the Sunday Olympians away who always find a certainty and a guarantee here: the little bar of Ancient Appian Way. Then, let's face it, the little bar has grown and matured over time (unfortunately its prices too, Editor's note) but it is and remains an indispensable place and an irreplaceable resource in summer and winter, in the cold and in the heat. Among the few survivors of a location that despite increasing flows, seems to decrease consumption, here you know you come and can enjoy a moment of relaxation (and at least everyone agrees on that). The place is really nice and the back is a kind of island within an island, a relaxation corner where you can rest between one stage and another of your exploration and restore body and soul. It's not cheap but it's not expensive either: honestly, I have difficulty understanding certain criticisms and am astounded by those who would expect discount prices for a business in the tourist center of the city (almost in a monopoly condition, among other things). They really don't take advantage of it: the level of food is good, not excellent but not dull, some desserts are pleasant like the sandwiches, the first courses are decent, a coffee for two euros is not a steal on the Appia Antica. Those who do not have this availability can continue their walk peacefully, I believe this is peaceful. They are used to dealing with a thousand types of people and in my opinion they know how to do it, some may not like their confidentiality but certainly no one can question availability and courtesy, sometimes mistaken for flattery. Personally I continue to recommend it, expecting what you can expect from a bar, even with long experience and in any case sitting in this place with a coffee in front of you should make any consideration negative. And if I have given you a useful suggestion, leave a like and look at the other reviews made on Rome and beyond.

Paramos para almorzar durante nuestro viaje en bicicleta a este pequeño café lindo. La comida ya está preparada en una vitrina y pides y la calientan. Pedido parmesano de berenjena y una ensalada. Estaba bueno, pero las porciones podían ser más grandes. Pero en general fue una parada relajante en un entorno lindo.
