The restaurant is stunning, boasting a unique interior (the fruit of centuries of history), with a lovely adjoining garden where you can dine. It was a high-end establishment until 20 years ago, but it's fallen into disrepair, perhaps due to the fact that the owners are very elderly. The menu is very limited and offers very little variety. Nothing stands out. Some waiters are a bit improvised, and the table setting isn't particularly impressive: heavy, old-fashioned glasses, which no restaurant uses anymore, where the wine can't breathe; the menu is on a cheap, creased card. There isn't even a website, and reservations must be made exclusively by phone. Without a website, only a few takeout pizza places remain. If it were managed differently, given its location, it would be an excellent restaurant.

A wonderful birthday dinner experience. Everything was delicious, from the buffet to the service to the entree. The only flaw: given the scorching hot day, in a private, indoor dining room, a little fresh air would have been appreciated. A shovel, a fan, anything to keep us from sweating like we were on August 15th. But there's always room for improvement. 😉

Beautiful location, nothing to complain about. I have some reservations about the food, however: for an appetizer, we ordered a platter of cured meats and cheeses, but they only served prosciutto, pancetta, gorgonzola, and ricotta, a somewhat limited selection compared to expectations.
The waiter, however, was very kind and helpful.
As for the desserts, I personally found the prices a bit high.

Gorgeous location, very large, plenty of seating but not crowded. It has a homey feel. I appreciated how they've maintained the identity of the historic restaurant. The service was a bit slow and lacking in some areas: we waited a bit for the menus, then another wait to order, and finally they brought our wine even before the bread basket. The platter is really small: it includes two slices of cold cuts and two of cheese (in my opinion, it's not even a platter for one person). The first courses and the polenta with braised meat were delicious! The dessert (zuccotto) was a bit of a disappointment... we didn't quite understand it.
