Antico Caffè Santamaria In Roma

Today I had dinner with my family at Nivis, overlooking the square on the terrace. I don't usually write reviews, but while I was waiting, I read all the bad reviews. We paid 25 euros per person for a pizza, spaghetti, fried squid and shrimp, and four desserts. The food was delicious, and the squid was crispy and not greasy at all. In my opinion, it was a very good experience.

Delicious gelato! I recommend the strawberry, chocolate, and pistachio ones!

Well...we didn't find a place as bad as described in other reviews. The service was polite, the atmosphere is nice and the "cacio e pepe" wasn't bad. The bill...about the average of the restaurants in the area.

Great place to have breakfast or a drink, with great views of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore! It's a bit pricey, though. Great service!

The tiramisu and cheesecake we ordered were good, but I can't say this about the service. We had to wait so much for the menus, always had to wait for the waiter to notice us to get our orders. I can't recommend this. I'm giving it 4 stars only because the food was good.

Nuestras dos parejas tenían cada uno un sándwich de Focaccia Salami, eran 6 €. 50 cada uno y bastante grande. El lugar parecía tener muchas reglas. Tratamos de pedir en el mostrador y nos dijeron que nos sentáramos fuera en las mesas y hacer su pedido. Tardamos un tiempo en esperar solo para descubrir que teníamos que sentarnos en las otras mesas con sillas de plástico si solo estábamos recibiendo sándwiches. El servidor era muy agradable y ayudó a mover mesas para que pudiéramos sentarnos juntos. Por estos asientos nos cobraron 3€ cada uno. Las bebidas, el agua y una Coca-Cola eran de 4 €. 50 cada uno. Pedí hielo y tenemos unos 5 cubitos de hielo cada uno. Nuestro amigo tenía una Cesar Insalata por 15€ y dijo que era muy bueno. Añada el impuesto del IVA y nuestro almuerzo llegó a 60 €.

We stopped by Nivis for a coffee break and were truly impressed. Both the espresso and cappuccino were rich, smooth, and full of flavor — easily among the best we’ve had in Rome. The atmosphere was cozy and the service warm and welcoming. A perfect little spot for a high-quality coffee experience. Grazie mille!

I visited this place in February of this year, the drinks and food were excellent. What really made the experience special was the amazing service from Paulo, who made the place even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Good food. Just wondering why you have to pay for nife and fork?

Coffee was delicious, croissant was OK, chocolate cake was too sweet. Also, we were charged for the coffee double the price that was listed on the wall.
