We stopped by this trattoria for lunch and had an all-around wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, the owner made us feel so welcome, and every dish was simply delicious

What can I say, beautiful and elegant place, wonderful staff that welcomes you with a smile and makes you feel like "family"!!! And the food, SOMETHING WONDERFUL! I found flavors that I hadn't felt in a long time. Absolutely to try, and we will definitely be back!!!

Trattoria Degli Antichi Sapori ..is a Piedmontese trattoria and is located in via Roma 22 ...in Sala Monferrato in the province of Alessandria. Reservations are mandatory here, and it also has high chairs for children ..and our 4-legged friends are also welcome here. It is open at lunchtime and then in the evening for dinner, starting at 8pm. A good lunch or an excellent dinner costs between 30 and 40 euros. Among the dishes I love the most here, I have found veal with tuna sauce, tagliatelle with porcini mushroom sauce, agnolotti monferrini with stew sauce, and as a second course I will gladly go for the sirloin steak. However, there are many other traditional Piedmontese dishes to taste here that I recommend. Always accompanied by fresh bread of the day. Excellent Piedmontese wines. And excellent desserts for all the most refined palates. I recommend it for beautiful days or evenings at the weekend to those who don't know it yet.

We decided to try their FAMOUS AND WINNING “PLIN” and booked for lunch. Upon our arrival we were greeted by SMILING AND THOUGHTFUL staff. The place is very beautiful, well-kept and very clean. The exposed brick ceiling makes everything VERY MAGICAL. As soon as we sat down and read the menu (short but VERY SUBSTANTIAL) and placed our orders, we waited about 8/10 minutes and a lunch began that, in our opinion, took us back to the times of GRANDMOTHER'S lunches. The plin, unfortunately, were not available due to their popularity but WE WILL RETURN VERY SOON AND VERY HAPPILY. Gentlemen, what can I say…. ABSOLUTELY TO TRY!!!

Today Friday May 23. We decided to go and taste the famous Plin of the Trattoria Antichi Sapori seen on TV in the show of Joe Bastianich and accompanied by Bruno Barbieri and winner of the challenge for the best Plin of Monferrato.. a bit of a long journey to get there but Monferrato is wonderful (for us almost 140km) we went on purpose to taste the famous plin, which in the show broadcast a few days ago on TV with Bruno Barbieri and Joe Bastianich. They guaranteed the victory of the place precisely for their Plin. But for us ordinary customers they were not on the menu. I am honest, the reason was explained to us, and I understand, unfortunately we went on purpose and I think others like us after seeing the show on TV. A small disappointment remains. But I must say that with extreme kindness they offered us agnolotti. And the advice was excellent. Too good like everything else proposed below. Go there, because for sure soon the Plin will be back on the menu it was confirmed to us.

A place where you can feel the tradition of the place. Pay attention to the raw materials used which all come from local producers. Very well prepared dishes and excellent flavors as well as an excellent choice of wines. The owners' daughters run this place with passion. Very good. It was a discovery that made Monferrato even more interesting.

A really quaint place and really friendly staff. I'll be back!

Excellent food, revisited Piedmontese cuisine! Convenient parking... 10m walk from the restaurant, a path suitable for families to reach the Big Bench n48 of Sala Monferrato with a spectacular view!
