We had the most incredible lunch. Local and traditional foods, definitely one of the best meals we’ve had while travelling in Italy. The handmade pasta with greens was unlike any pasta I’ve had before. Gracious service by the whole family.

An example of "heroic" catering: outside the traditional tourist itineraries, you have to come there on purpose. But if you pass through these parts, don't miss the opportunity to stop in this ancient tavern. No pre-packaged meals, nothing frozen. Only traditional recipes and local seasonal products. Some dishes you can only taste here (e.g. cecatielli with pulejo) because they require patience for the search and cleaning of wild herbs as well as for the preparation of the pasta by hand.

Dopo un po’ di tempo ritorno in questa trattoria con la voglia di gustare di nuovo i piatti che ricordavo con nostalgia. E puntualmente li ho ritrovati: il coniglio in primis, l’ottima focaccia, lo spezzatino, la zucca sotto aceto…Non è cambiato nulla, dall’antipasto, ai primi, ai secondi tutta la qualità e la tipicità di questi luoghi. Mi dispiace aver visto recensioni non positive, ma devo dire che il rapporto qualità/prezzo è eccezionale. Una tappa obbligatoria nell’Irpinia dei sapori veri, con la simpatia dei titolari.

I love places that exude passion, this is one of them

We were on the road from Napoli to Puglia and wanted to try something better than the highway gas stations, found this place on Tripadvisor (it is a 10 detour both ways). Such a nice experience, from the way the place looks, to the gentelman who owns the place, and who is also serving, elegant, curteous. When he understood we don’t speak italian, daughter came out of the kitchen and asked us what do we want to eat. No menu, nothing. Ended up with a lavish entree, exquisite stuff all local specialties, followed by 2 perfectly done home made pasta dishes. 3 portions of the sugested zucchini flower ones were truly special, and the ricotta tomato ones were also super good. Owner also sugested the wine that went perfectly well with each dish. Funny part is that we never asked or discussed price, (remember, no menu) and I was very pleasantly surprised by the final bill, all of us guessed higher totals. While in the beginning we were not sure about this detour, it was totaly worth it!

This is like a temple of Italian dishes, of course they are looking at the Irpinia area. Great service and atmosphere. Sublime produce and great wines.

Rustic and traditional atmosphere, very kind and welcoming staff. I came here during the week and it was very uncrowded, just a couple other tables so service was very quick. We were a couple and we shared the meal: minestra maritata, rabbit hunter style and to finish a crunchy dessert. House wine, water, no bitters or coffee. I liked everything but I wouldn't call it a miracle, nor would I define the meal as "sublime". It is traditional cuisine with a rough plating and flavors similar to those I experience every day at home - being from the area -. In short, the meal and the environment are typical of a local farmhouse... so why these prices? Almost €60 for a half meal seems way too much to me, honestly I expected to spend at least €20 less.

Arriving late on Monday for lunch, we were welcomed very warmly by the owner. Historic place with many photos and historical references. Very genuine and excellent dishes. We will definitely return

Everything was excellent, from the appetizers to the dessert, I recommend the vegetable soup and the cavatelli with broccoli, a very familiar environment and Michele, the owner, a truly exquisite person! Unsurpassed quality and price! Highly recommended!
