A traditional restaurant with old-fashioned values. La Moretta was a delightful discovery! Both the fish and meat were absolutely excellent. The octopus appetizer and the potato gnocchi with seafood ragù are highly recommended. The service was excellent. I hope to return soon.

We had lunch in a cozy trattoria in the center of Ancona and, of course, we couldn’t help but try their legendary dish — Stoccafisso all’anconitana (dried cod in Anconitan style). It was a hit right in the heart! The fish is incredibly tender, literally melts in your mouth, and the sauce with potatoes, tomatoes, and olives is a true taste of the Marche region. Served with crispy toast, which is so delicious to scoop up the leftover sauce. Combined with a glass of cool white wine — just a gastronomic delight. The atmosphere in the trattoria is very homely and hospitable. A must-visit if you want to taste Ancona!

I'm writing this review, but I feel like it's almost superfluous because it's so repetitive: AMAZING!!!

We had dinner at this restaurant this evening. It's a very elegant place, with top-notch staff and impeccable service. We had a fish appetizer and a fillet steak, both truly excellent.
We'll definitely be back.

Over a century of classic Italian trattoria style continues to this day! This charming restaurant has the feel of visiting a relatives home, if they were incredible cooks. Home made, fresh seafood is the star, along with their pastas- I loved the brodetta or seafood stew, done here Ancona style with saffron, herbs, tomatoes and garlic- really tasty and vibrant, complementing the sweet fish, prawns, and shellfish.
I didn’t mention there’s over 10 types of seafood in this stew alone- a true treasure trove of the local water’s best offering! If you want a true taste of Ancona, look no further- bon appetite!
