Antica Santo Stefano In Casamassima

Excellent pizza and a wide selection of beers.... The Carlo V on tap is exceptional, the service is well organised, kind and helpful, and the service is prompt.

Last night I went to the pizzeria "Antica Santo Stefano" in Casamassima. It was Saturday, and as expected, the place was packed. After being turned down at two local pizzerias—which was perfectly normal, as I hadn't booked—I managed to find a table at the third, despite it also being packed. The establishment offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was quick and courteous, with an adequate number of waiters dedicated to the tables. In addition to being a pizzeria, the place also serves as a restaurant. I ordered two appetizers: gratinated mushrooms and zucchini and mortadella rolls. The mushrooms seemed undercooked and rather bland. The zucchini, however, were decent and well-blended with the cheese, while the mortadella was almost imperceptible. The pizzas were good, but not memorable: thin, well-cooked, and with quality ingredients, although there's still room for improvement. Overall, the experience was positive.

I recommend the Neapolitan dough which makes the pizza very tasty.

The space is tastefully decorated, combining classic Italian elegance with modern touches. Soft music, subtle lighting and thoughtful details create an environment ideal for both a romantic dinner and a relaxed evening with friends. The staff was extremely **polite, helpful and eager** to answer our every question, showing complete knowledge of the menu and wines. The feeling that someone really cares about your experience as a customer is priceless. As for the food, it was simply **excellent**. We started with a variety of appetizers, such as fresh carpaccio and creamy burrata, all of which were impeccably executed and full of flavor. The main courses were the highlight of the evening. The pastas, made by hand, were al dente and the sauces so balanced that every bite was an explosion of flavors. We tried the **juicy risotto** and a **delicious pizza** with thin, crispy dough and fresh ingredients. It is obvious that **high quality raw materials** are used, which highlights the authenticity of the flavors. The wine list was also impressive, with a wide variety of Italian labels that perfectly complemented the dishes. We finished our meal with a classic tiramisu, which was light, airy and absolutely delicious.

Fairly fast service and good pizza, I have to complain about 2 things. The first, the mixed cold cuts and cheese platter, cannot be called mixed if only bacon is served, I find it absurd that they don't give more choices of cold cuts, in fact it was not eaten as it is the only cold cuts that I do not eat. The second thing concerns the pizza, if there are 2 of us going to a pizzeria the pizza must be given at the same time, instead they forgot my pizza and served it to me only when the other person had already finished it, ending up eating alone.

Evening with friends... Everyone liked the pizza... nice thin and well topped... impeccable service... The only thing I don't like and unfortunately it's a general problem is that they allow smoking at the outside tables... so close you can't escape passive smoking and that's not a good thing
