Excellent location. Attentive and competent service. Food: truly refined. Delicious and revisited dishes. Many Roman first and second courses revisited in a light yet unique way. I've attached a photo.

I went there for my birthday in September 2025, and I'd say the experience wasn't great. They certainly have some strong points, such as the impeccable service, the beautiful and well-decorated venue, and especially the pleasant outdoor area. As for the food, the appetizers were elaborate and delicious (the duck breast was very uniquely presented), but the first courses and desserts were very disappointing: the carbonara had almost no guanciale and the egg custard was very poor, the famous cigar dessert was tasteless, the panna cotta, which they say is coconut, tasted like nothing, it was watery... Always a plus for the service, however; the waitress who served us also offered me a second dessert with a birthday candle to celebrate. In conclusion, even though the venue is beautiful and there were some positive things about the evening, they're not enough to make me consider returning so soon, and for the price we paid, I expected more.

I visited L'Antica Pesa for dinner and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere is refined and welcoming: we were seated on a lovely veranda, although I personally would have preferred the main room, which seems to have an even more characteristic atmosphere. The service was truly impeccable: the staff were attentive, professional, and never intrusive, which I greatly appreciated. One detail that struck me was the small plate dedicated to olive oil and the selection offered: an interesting and unusual choice. A small suggestion, given the quality of the restaurant, would be to add a full-fledged olive oil menu, which would make the experience even more complete. The dishes are beautifully presented, with great attention to aesthetics. Of all the dishes, the appetizer of duck breast and mustard ice cream was simply extraordinary: a successful combination that truly won me over, without a doubt the best dish of the evening. As for the main courses, I tried the lamb, but it didn't entirely convince me: I found it undercooked, a bit dry, and not perfectly cooked. Considering the raw material, I expected something more. The tartare was good, although I wasn't thrilled: I found it a bit too compressed and with a rather strong bloody flavor. The accompanying sauce could have helped balance the dish and give it a boost, but it lacked a bit more character. Overall, it was a very good and successful dinner, enjoyable in many ways. It's definitely a restaurant I'd gladly return to to try other items on the menu. Well done, and congratulations! Highly recommended.

We've been to this restaurant several times and have always found the quality to be excellent. The service has been consistently attentive and courteous. Each visit has been a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. We've always been satisfied with our selection. We highly recommend this restaurant for its reliability, the quality of its food, and its excellent wine list.

Excellent place, refined food, they know how to work, but there is a lack of empathy, spontaneity, staff and service are just sufficient... in Rome it happens... they pretend to be nice and friendly... but they only want your money... snobbish...

I waited to write this review because I confess (or rather, I admit...it's not a sin, not venal) that I'm unfamiliar with the Panella family tradition...and since I was involved in a "surprise," I at least did some research by watching the famous Francesco's show (I follow it now, so I'll allow myself this confidence!). Me, the top reviewer in Rome, who didn't know this place...sacrilege!!!! And so, one day, where do I find myself? A guest of friends here, in this place that, as the sign says, is now over a century old and has seen it all, and has learned to serve both, cooked and raw, with skill and professionalism. It was supposed to be a meal among friends, but instead it turned into a kind of performance anxiety, with the terror of meeting this legendary chef or of not being able to give a correct judgment. "Stop!" I said to myself... "You're here to eat, not for the Miss Italy judging panel...relax!" Let's get this straight: the place is beautiful, and if it weren't for the constant crowds, I'd say it's made for relaxing and well-served. The first plus is the attentive and impeccable service, neither stuffy nor intrusive, prompt, efficient, polite, and friendly. Then there's the venue, which is rich in history and offers a wide range of options, even if some seem a bit limited (but finding a table here on certain days feels like winning the football pools). The celebrity photos on the walls tell the story (and the trends, too), but it's the Michelin stars that provide the right context. And then, of course, the cuisine, with a menu that offers Roman tradition and more, which I found very modern, which isn't a bad thing, but also reminds me of being in a Michelin-starred restaurant and not a trattoria in Trastevere. Some things seem delicious, but my curiosity ends with the appetizer (the miniburger is interesting... or the mozzarella in a crust), but the first courses remain Roman, and the carbonara is a must (very good, but not the best I've ever had). The tiramisu version is interesting. What I consider a sore point isn't the price (I'd say high, not within everyone's reach) but rather finding not only a cover charge (not insignificant) but also a bread charge (similar), which, given the prices decidedly not within everyone's reach, I would have preferred to see absorbed by raising the rest a bit. There's no wine list, but a veritable tome... and it's immediately clear that this is one of their top-notch offerings. Positive experience? Yes, I definitely recommend it, and it's a place that will make you look good if you bring someone important to you... but expect an equally hefty bill, especially if you order one of the wines they offer from the cellar (I'm a teetotaler, so that was my guests' luck—Editor's note). But what I found here is what I later found confirmed when I watched Francesco on his trips out of town... the sense of hospitality, which definitely feels at home here. And then the passion... there's a camaraderie within, and you can feel it... everything seems to run smoothly, thanks to a well-oiled and well-oiled machine. It's obviously what he's looking for because he knows it well; it's a fundamental ingredient of their cuisine, and it's only right to see if this Italianness is present in those who want to represent our cuisine around the world. Reservations are essential, of course, but you might be lucky and try it without: you'll likely see a slightly different crowd than you'll find at other restaurants in the area, but here it's a kind of haven of happiness, and it's best to keep it that way. 07/04/2026: Gorgeous place surrounded by trees and a stream. All the dishes were delicious, carefully prepared, and high-quality. The service was friendly and the price was reasonable considering it was Easter lunch.
