I recommend it. Welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very good food and respectful of the Roman tradition. Francesco Panella a true innkeeper who takes care of each of his customers. Absolutely top-notch menu and wine list. Historic and warm location. Very particular and artistic fresco room. Prices above average but absolutely worth it. I'll be back.

Cibo di livello , ottima la qualità della materia prima . Forse la carta dei vini deve essere più snellita …ti portano un libro che confonde solo le idee e alla fine per sbrigarti prendi quello che conosci !!!
Posto incantevole e personale molto cordiale . Panella che passa per i tavoli è decisamente un valore aggiunto .

Our experience at Antica Pesa was exceptional, right from the moment we entered. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and seated with great courtesy. The atmosphere is made even more special by the photos on the walls, which portray stars and celebrities who have chosen this restaurant, adding a touch of prestige to the place.
We had dinner in a splendid external courtyard, where the attention to detail and care of the service was impeccable. To start, we chose two starters: a delicious combination of buffalo and raw meat and a small burger, both excellent. For the first courses, we can only recommend the carbonara: an iconic dish prepared to perfection, with an authentic taste that won us over. We concluded with a truly sublime tiramisu, the perfect ending to a memorable dinner.
What made the evening even more special was the opportunity to meet Francesco Panella, an extraordinarily smart and kind person, who made us feel even more welcome.
An experience to absolutely try, for the quality of the food, the attention to the customer and the unique atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Un locale storico con oltre 100 anni di attività dove la cucina romana rivive con cura ma in maniera elegante (e cara) rispetto alla norma di Trastevere. I piatti top sono i primi, amatriciana ma sopratutto cacio e pepe, il pollo alla cacciatora, meno bene il dolce e lo gnocco romano con cavolo nero (piatto sbilanciato nelle quantità e più grossolano). Buoni i vini

So-so experience.
Cozy location, even if a little dark. Good dishes but without peaks of enthusiasm. Challenging wine list in every sense (a real manual that is very difficult to handle especially in relation to the size of the table...). Distracted service, but perhaps we were unlucky, having ended up next to a table that caught everyone's attention, having ordered around 10 bottles of wine.
Basically I wouldn't go back.
I would have expected "more, much more" from Panella's restaurant.

The food was great but a restaurant is only as good as its service, and there were a few issues. Only one really caused me grief, but anyway:
1. I was given bread that I didn’t ask for, that I ended up having to pay for
2. The WiFi just doesn’t work at all
3. Despite arriving exactly when the restaurant opened, we still had to wait for tables to be ready?
4. Not knowing what wine to get, I asked for a recommendation and was recommended the most expensive on the menu (if I’m asking for recommendations, I’m probably not going to be able to taste the finest on offer am I…)
5. The one that really left a sour taste - after finishing everything, it was 30 minutes before I managed to get the bill. And even then, I had to chase it. I was dining alone, so it was extremely clear when I could do with service. Having to wait 30 minutes, only to then run out of patience and ask for it myself is ridiculous. And even when I did manage to ask for the bill, the waiter had a 5 minute conversation with the table next to me before sorting it out.
