A well-known restaurant in Rome, thanks in part to its owners' ability to attract customers, particularly popular with international clientele. Nevertheless, it deserves credit for successfully combining international renown with typical Roman flavor and atmosphere, all seasoned with a sense of smart-casual elegance. Two cornerstones of Roman cuisine are consistently well-received: the satisfying Carbonara and the flavorful Amatriciana, followed by the unique chamomile-breaded Lamb Chops and a delicious prime cut of Pork with escarole and pine nut sauce. The desserts are spectacular. Special mention goes to the presence of the well-known owner, who coordinated and oversaw the entire service throughout the evening, even making sure we enjoyed our dinner. An experience worth trying.

Food was fantastic, service was amazing, the owner was lovely and the atmosphere divine. Very accomodating for allergens and Gluten Free / Celiac. Huge wine selection with knowledgeable staff members on the best recommendations. Went with a group of 4 who all got different dishes and every meal was visually stunning + tasted amazing ! A must visit every time you are in Roma.

The welcome was warm and professional, as was the service. You can feel the history of this historic establishment, which is still run by the Panella family. The dishes are unique, even in their presentation, high quality, and exceptional in flavor. The cod cappuccino is particularly special, and I highly recommend it.

Qualità delle materie prime e creatività nei piatti, dagli antipasti al dolce, in questo ristorante storico a trastevere. Degno di nota in particolare il tonno. Cortese il personale

Da Panella mi sarei aspettato ‘qualcosa di più’. Prima cosa: il menù in inglese, no. Proprio lui, che la mena tanto con l’Italianità. Non ci siamo su questo. Carbonara eccellente, giusto un po’ tiepida, ma eccellente. Così come l’amatriciana, top. Cadiamo sui secondi: costolette di agnello con una salsa verde - fredda - all’aneto; il piatto sarebbe stato ottimo senza di quella. Il brasato non morbidissimo e un po’ secco. Quello che voglio dire è: sono prezzi da stellato, e quindi mi attenderei grandi piatti; pur essendo ottimi, non sono comunque proporzionati al prezzo. Una nota sul servizio: sicuramente rapido e cortese, però quando mi chiedi ‘ti porto un po’ di pane?’ Sarebbe meglio avvisare che viene considerato come antipasto. Altrimenti, se uno vuol saltare gli antipasti, non si accorge della voce. Per onestà intellettuale devo dire però che, salvo mio errore, non fanno pagare il coperto. Ambiente non troppo intimo e silenzioso, in contrasto con quello che sembra non appena entri nell’antisala Acqua, due calici dí sangiovese, due primi e due secondi, 139 euro. Leggermente sproporzionato, però i due primi piatti assolutamente da provare.
