I've been here three times now, and everytime it’s such a lovely experience. Everyone is incredibly nice, and the food is just tasty. I haven’t tried anything here that wasn’t. It’s really the perfect spot to pick up something for a quiet breakfast. The prices are good and fair. Should I ever return to Parma, this is definitely one of the spots I'd visit again.

It's been a while since I've been there, but I'd like to recommend it because everything is very good and reasonably priced. I recommend it. It's my favorite pastry shop, even though it's diabetic. When I go there, I only order savory items, which are also available and excellent. Unfortunately, recently there's a new, very young clerk who I hope won't serve me anymore because she's having some problems. She wanted me to pay by card because I asked if she'd exchange coins for me, but she said she didn't have much, so I decided to pay in cash. She insisted I pay by card so I could "help her," are you kidding? Not the best kindness.
The last time, while she was serving me, the other clerk pretended to serve me and listen to me, but she was serving another customer, so she gave him what I asked for, which then wasn't there (which the customer also asked for, anyway), with a mocking smile. It's not normal for clerks or shopkeepers to insist on a payment method: I choose what I prefer. Despite this, I give it 5 stars.

The cake is as good as other cake shops but as expensive as quinine.

The pain au chocolat is delicious, as is the coffee. The pastries are very good. Cons: There aren't many seats and the bathroom is out of order.

Pain au chocolat unrivaled…
Even when compared to the greats of Italian pastry, it wins by far. Hats off!

On holiday in Parma? Don't eat a tourist breakfast in your hotel, rather sit at a table (inside or out) in this historic cafe and enjoy good coffee and delicious pastries among the locals. Gualtiero Pagani is the 5th generation of his family to run this 150 year old pasticceria in Parma's historic centre, and his parents are still there most days manning the counter. If you like Sicilian crostoli, you'll adore Parma's cannoncino!

Historic pastry shop, perhaps a little crowded. The puff pastries are good, although the fillings aren't particularly generous. Overall, a positive experience.

Very friendly staff. We arrived early at 11:30, and we early checked in by 11:50, no extra charge. Front desk recommended nice local restaurants and help us making reservations. The location is the best in Parma, next to Duomo and the Baptistry, also an easy walk or bus for about 10 minutes
