Excellent Ligurian specialties, from farinata to minestrone, from ravioli aü tuccu to fried anchovies... I was able to make a reservation, and I think it's much better to do so, given how busy it is... Truly a great place, also for introducing Ligurian cuisine to friends who are visiting from out of town!!! Prices are reasonable for the excellent quality of the dishes!!!

The restaurant isn't affordable for the average person. I mention this for those who might still be misled about the nature of this former tavern, now a renowned restaurant. The price, however, is amply justified by the quality of the cuisine, which is simply superb. Farinata, vegetable fillings, anchovies: everything is simply delicious.
The table service, however, leaves a bit to be desired. There's a certain improvisation, something that unfortunately has become increasingly common since COVID. Worse, since this is no longer a typical trattoria, diners aren't offered a menu. The waiter is sent with an order book, as if it were still a relatively inexpensive trattoria.
Finally, I realize it's foolish to order beer in a place like this. But they can't even serve a bad beer.

I went there the other night for the first time. I waited in line for 10 minutes.
I had trofie with pesto, green beans and potatoes, and octopus with potatoes and Taggiasca olives. Everything was good.

We dined at this restaurant twice during our stay in Chiavari. Our experience was incredibly positive: the dishes were delicious and always beautifully presented, the waiters were extremely kind and helpful, and the location under the porticoes was unique.

Ups and downs. The place doesn't take reservations; you have to get to the front, and if there's a line, ask who's last, like at a doctor's, and wait for a table corresponding to your group's number to become available. We got in line at 8:50 PM, meanwhile listening to the stories of the others in line, who told us how the place was closed for the three days of August 15th and that it starts closing at 10 PM. And indeed, that's what happened. Shortly after we got in line, one of the guys, very kind, asked us to tell the next people arriving that we were the last ones; they wouldn't be taking any more tables. The tables under the umbrellas apparently only had one sitting, but then someone was seated. It seemed to me that everything revolved around the desire to serve more people, which may or may not be acceptable, not based on public demand. Anyway, we sat down at around 9:25 PM, and the service was very fast. The menu was read to us because many dishes had run out. In the week after Ferragosto, how could you not expect to serve until the last minute? The dishes were all excellent and plentiful. We had a plate of farinata, a plate of trofie, a plate of roast beef, a plate of octopus with potatoes, and a bottle of water. €65. Fair price.

For me, this is the best restaurant in Chiavari, strategically located near Piazza Mazzini and with plenty of space for tables.
We had the best trofie al pesto I've ever eaten and the spaghetti with mussel sauce.
Next time I'm in Chiavari, it's the first place I'll return to.

Consigliati da amici ci siamo presentati un sabato all’orario di apertura (h. 12,00) perché non prendono prenotazioni. Così abbiamo potuto sederci all’unico tavolino da due esistente (gli altri tavoli sono da 4 o da 6 posti e questo potrebbe voler dire mangiare gomito a gomito con altri avventori), il locale si è riempito in fretta e quando abbiamo terminato il pranzo c’erano persone all’esterno che aspettavano di entrare. Non c’è un menu e quindi non conosci i prezzi delle portate, comunque non preoccupatevi perché sono nella norma: un piatto (abbondante) di pasta 13 €, calamari ripieni 14 €, una fetta di torta 6 €: tutto molto buono. Servizio rapido e cortese.

Gran lugar si usted es un turista ; es tradicional pero caro en comparación con otros restaurantes en el barrio. La gente local simplemente no va allí, no se encontrará con nadie de Liguria, excepto gente de Milán o extranjeros.
