A great place to eat local and traditional dishes. We ate authentic Ferraresi cappellacci. Delicious. Once with the traditional ragù sauce and once with pecorino cream. Fast and high-quality service.

Traditional, home-style food in Ferrara. A real hit.
We ordered cappellacci di zucca with ragù, which was exquisite. Tagliata di manzo with truffles was also very good.
House wine at 10 euros a bottle, which was great value.
Delicious panna cotta.

We happened upon this tavern by chance during a holiday weekend in Ferrara, which was also very crowded with tourists. Even though we hadn't booked, they found us a table for two, and I must say we had a really good time. Exceptional platter, fast service and a welcoming atmosphere. We were satisfied.

Antica Osteria Delle Volte is in a beautiful quiet little cobbled street famous for its arches. I loved the steak and veggies I had. The service was outstanding and we felt super welcome. We got really good recommendations and they took the time to explain everything. 5 out of 5.

Excellent lunch. Table for two, we hadn't booked but they sat us down right away.
We ordered the courgette flowers and sage leaves in batter, a portion for two, and the pumpkin cappellacci with ragù. The courgette flowers were an excellent dish, crispy batter and just the right amount of salt.
The cappellacci were the star though: a plate with three enormous cappellacci (something like 8-10 cm in diameter), filled to bursting, well seasoned with herbs, with nutmeg standing out. The ragù was also excellent and in just the right amount.
I will be back with great pleasure.

A somewhat "hidden" restaurant on the edge of the historic center of Ferrara. We went there on the recommendation of the owner of the hotel where we were staying and we were very satisfied tasting typical local dishes.

Bello il locale e la via centrale dove si trova.
Servizio buono ma tempi di attesa un po'lunghi.
Cappellacci abbastanza insapori, fiori di zucchina nella media, tagliata buona ma poca, dolci insomma.
Prezzi penso nella norma per Ferrara.
