Good but average, not memorable

I dined at the ancient Osteria ai Ranari and am writing this review because I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of the food and the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff, especially Luca, who with great professionalism helped make the evening extremely enjoyable.

We had dinner last night as a family of four. The place was packed and we didn't make a reservation, but after a few minutes of waiting, a table was set up for us. We only had four typical starters, but they were all very good. The waiter who served us was very kind and polite. I would gladly return.

A simple but not banal restaurant. Simple and attentive service. Excellent Slow Food products and bigoli. Good value. Congratulations!

A small place, just the way I like it. The charcuterie and cheese platter with mustards was excellent. The pumpkin tortelli were sublime and plentiful... the best we've ever had. The waitress was kind and professional. The bill was also fair. Kudos to the entire staff.

The location is a little outside the city center, near the river. Friendly service, good food, with some excellent dishes. The price is in line with the offerings.
